Uriah Heep Lyrics

For a minute today
And I told there was something
That I wanted to say
Just sitting there glowing
With her red light on
So I've gotta make fast
Maybe she will
Maybe she won't
We can get it so together
If she doesn't say don't
I've never ever thought
I was looking for a wife
But I think I could love her
For the rest of my life
I only took one ‘cause
I couldn't take two
I want to make love
And it's gotta be you
Every little thing that
I ever tried to say
Is coming out right
In my own kinda way
Take it, make it
It really feels fine
She must be Lady Luck
If she's gonna be mine
I will love you all my life
The song "All My Life" by Uriah Heep is a love song that tells the tale of a man who has finally found the woman he has been looking for. The first verse starts with the man having a moment of clarity where he realizes that he has something he wants to say to this woman. He then describes the woman, saying that she is "glowing with her red light on." He knows he has to seize the opportunity to express his feelings and get to know her better.
In the second verse, he starts to express his love for the woman. He knows that the two of them can be together if she doesn't say no. He admits that he never thought he was looking for a wife, but he believes he could love her for the rest of his life. He also says that he only took one chance with her because he knew in his heart that she was the one he wanted to make love to.

I had a little look
I took a quick glance
For a minute today
For a brief moment earlier
And I told there was something
I realized I had something to say
That I wanted to say
Something I needed to express
Just sitting there glowing
Radiating bright light
With her red light on
Lit up by a red light
So I've gotta make fast
I need to act quickly
And it shouldn't take long
Assuming things go smoothly, it won't take much time
Maybe she will
Perhaps she will be interested
Maybe she won't
Or maybe not
We can get it so together
If we work to communicate effectively
If she doesn't say don't
If she doesn't object
I've never ever thought
I have never considered
I was looking for a wife
Searching for a lifelong partner
But I think I could love her
But I believe I could grow to love her
For the rest of my life
For the duration of my time on this earth
I only took one ‘cause
I only consumed one because
I couldn't take two
I was not able to handle a second
I want to make love
I desire to engage in sexual intimacy
And it's gotta be you
And I want that to be with you
Every little thing that
Every small detail that
I ever tried to say
I attempted to express
Is coming out right
Is finally being communicated effectively
In my own kinda way
Using my own unique approach
Take it, make it
Embrace and construct something meaningful
It really feels fine
It creates a positive sensation
She must be Lady Luck
She is a fortunate coincidence
If she's gonna be mine
If she is interested in pursuing a relationship with me
I will love you all my life
I will continue to love you for eternity
