he sold his records out
or gave them out somewhere
he shook his freedom up
it's never late to start
to get yourself another life
and drive the city
away, away, away
he left his painting's back
a broken piano where
he played romantic songs
for all the nice girls there
and in a pack of books
he left his idols there
he took his freedom for a ride one way
It's not over yet, over yet, over yet
It's not over yet, over yet, over yet
It's not over yet, over yet, over yet
It's not over yet, over yet, over yet
I'm going down, I'm going down to paris
I'm leaving all I'm leaving all my friends
I'm going down, I'm going down to paris
I'm leaving all I'm leaving all my friends
I'm going down, I'm going down to paris
I'm leaving all I'm leaving all my friends
I'm going down, I'm going down to paris
I'm leaving all I'm leaving all my friends
The lyrics to VAllEY's song "1999" tell the story of someone who has decided to leave their current life behind and start anew. It is set in the year 1999, and the singer in the song is described as having sold or given away his records before shaking up his freedom and deciding to begin a new life. The lyrics suggest that it's never too late to start over and that the singer is ready to get "another life" and drive away to a new city.
We are also told that the singer leaves behind a broken piano and a pack of books, including his idols. These items represent his past life, and he is leaving them behind as he drives away. The lyrics repeat the refrain "It's not over yet" several times, suggesting that the singer still has a long way to go on his journey of self-discovery.
The song ends with the singer announcing that he is going down to Paris, leaving all of his friends behind. This final verse suggests that he is ready to start a new life, devoid of any previous relationships or attachments.
Overall, the lyrics to "1999" speak to the universal desire to start afresh, to leave behind the problems and heartaches of the past and begin anew. The song's message is one of hope and possibility, reminding us that it's never too late to change the course of our lives.

Woke up, it’s 2021
I wanna get texts
But I never wanna text back
Fuck man, I’m 2020 done
Another paycheck
And I blew it but I’m still sad
We talk all of the time
But it still feels like I’m just a voice on the line, so
If you wanna come over
Watch Friends and then get high
Use my phone as a coaster
We’ll travel back in time
Lights on the ceiling
We’re more than a feeling
If you wanna come over
Act like it’s 1999 (one, two, three, four)
Woke up
Had a dream about you
We were parked in a Pontiac
Making out, no internet
10 Things I Hate About You
Honestly nothing
We talk all of the time
And I love it
So what are you doing tonight?
If you wanna come over
Watch Friends and then get high
Use my phone as a coaster
We’ll travel back in time
Lights on the ceiling
We’re more than a feeling
If you wanna come over
Act like it’s 1999 (nine, nine, nine)
One sec
Do you mind if I’m nostalgic?
Let’s go back before 2000
Back before our love was so distracted
I wish that Y2K had happened
We would stay forever classic
You and I would both be trapped in
In 1999
We talk all of the time
And I love it
So what are you doing tonight?
If you wanna come over
Watch Friends and then get high
Use my phone as a coaster
We’ll travel back in time
Lights on the ceiling
We’re more than a feeling
If you wanna come over
Act like it’s 1999
