The group's name is an abbreviation for "VIVId dayZ", which brings together the concepts of "clear, intense, and days" and signifies that the group will become artists who confidently express their colors in the world. The Korean pronunciation is "bi-bi-ji", that refers to the names of the members: Eunha (Jung Eun-bi), Sinb (Hwang Eun-bi) and Umji.
On February 21, Mnet revealed that the group would be participating in their reality show Queendom 2, which began airing on March 31. The group released "Red Sun!" for the final mission to release an original song for the show.
On July 6, the trio released their second mini album "Summer Vibe".

While I do love that viviz is trying various concepts and sounds and they deserve to do whatever they want, they just really suit soft and dreamy songs the most. They’re the gfriend members with the light, girly, and airy vocals which is what allows them to do sweet/innocent/dreamy/rnb songs so well. I think many people could agree with me that their voices sound best in red sun, overdrive, come on baby tonight, flashback, mirror, and just gfriend’s music in general. viviz should be debuting in Japan soon, I think it would be great if they could continue gfriend’s sound in japan and make sentimental songs and orchestral pop and then just experiment with whatever they want in korea. Overdrive is already city pop which is essentially a japanese genre so they’d do well to make songs like this in japan, I’ve also seen most Japanese nav say that this is their favorite song on the album
