First class service on the best range of BBU ever made, a joy to service and very satisfying.
Gas guzzlers, but bullet proof units, cheap to maintain and combined with immersion heater hot water always available come what may and gas fire to heat the room.
Set the Gas consumption over a 30 plus lifespan and minimal service costs against any new boiler with maybe 15 year life span and high cost of maintenance and replacement parts I know what I'd choose!

It very much looked like that was the first proper service that fire/boiler had ever had. I really like your interaction with the customer and willingness to explain the key principles to them. Often times engineers treat the customer as idiots for not knowing as much as them. Nicely done.😀👍

Changing from permanent pilot to intermittent (electronic control) by buying a second hand boiler and using the controls tray saved us at least 14% of our total gas consumption.
They are a great boiler!

Fair play mate, I'm a service engineer aswell. It's good to see people doing a proper job. I've never serviced a bbu before, I always used to rip them out when I was an apprentice to fit combi's. It's nice to walk away knowing you've done a decent service for the customer. Keep up the good work dude

I have one of these, the boiler seems to work but the flames won't stay on when I try to light the fire. Any idea what causes that. Cheers 😊

Thanks your videos are a great help.
On this Back boiler where would you put the analyser for combustion readings. Ive had it in the past where manufacturer said combustion readings were not required as long as a full service was carried out.

Yh my pet hate is analyser only services. I rent my place from housing trust and they subcontract gas services and the company are in and out in quarter of an hour. Just making problems down the road.

Nice to see an old baxi not many around, it'll be a lot more efficient after that.

I used to sub to a housing association years ago their service engineers didn’t even know how to do a service 😂 if readings were out they put it in for a repair and not even attempt to clean the he boiler 🤦🏽‍♂️

That was a brilliant video mate, nothing more satisfying than a strip service on a BBU...time consuming though 😥 I sat watching trying to remember how that fire front came off...oh yeah it's the screws down there 😂 I think I've seen 3 different models of that same firefront and they all come apart different ways 😩

Pretty sure almost every fire front comes off similarly, screws at the bottom them pull forward and lift off the V’s

@@huyongquan6554 sorry buddy I was confused by your question , thought you was referring to the BBU in my video ,
I usually refer to them as a back panel and a fire surround , back panels your right should be non combustible, they did loads of wooden surrounds in the 80’s 90’s with dodgy fibreboard back panels that people thought was suitable till you did yearly service to find them all charred , fire surrounds are generally ok to be made from wood as long as minimum distances are met , lots of the early baxi Bermuda gas fires had wooden covers
