[Reason Is Treason by Kasabian]

Here comes the morning (and) I'll say goodbye to you
Here comes the morning (and) I'll say goodbye
But I don't turn around 'cause the reason is treason (x2)

See the stones coming at my window
See they left me no protection
Tell his family that he won't be ok
K! I! L-L!

Check the angles from both forces
Overcome by the need to fight it
Fight it, fight it, fight it, fight it

Here comes the morning (and) I'll say goodbye to you
Here comes the morning (and) I'll say goodbye
But I don't turn around 'cause the reason is treason (x2)

I hear the sounds of, oh-oh-woo
I hear the sounds of, oh-oh-woo
I hear the sounds of, oh-oh-woo
I hear the sounds of, oh-oh-woo
I hear the sounds of, oh-oh-woo
I hear the sounds of, oh-oh-woo
I hear the sounds of, oh-oh-woo-ahh

Here comes the morning (and) I'll say goodbye to you

Here comes the morning (and) I'll say goodbye
But I don't turn around 'cause the reason is treason (x6)

Overall Meaning

The song "The Reason" by Hoobastank is a powerful and emotional ballad about a person's struggle to find their own identity and place in the world. From the opening lines, the singer expresses his hopelessness and feelings of being lost: "I'm not a perfect person/There are many things I wish I didn't do." He goes on to reflect on the choices he has made in his life and how they have affected those around him: "I've found a reason for me/To change who I used to be/A reason to start over new/And the reason is you."

The "you" in the song could be interpreted as a loved one, a higher power or simply the singer's own inner voice. Regardless of who or what the "reason" is, the singer is determined to make a change for the better: "I'm sorry that I hurt you/It's something I must live with every day/And all the pain I put you through/I wish that I could take it all away." The chorus is a powerful and cathartic release of emotion, with the singer passionately proclaiming that he has finally found his reason to live: "I'm not a perfect person/I never meant to do those things to you/And so I have to say before I go/That I just want you to know/I've found a reason to show/A side of me you didn't know/A reason for all that I do/And the reason is you."

Overall, "The Reason" is a touching and relatable song about self-discovery, forgiveness and redemption. It reminds us that no matter how lost or hopeless we may feel, there is always a reason to keep going and strive to be our best selves.

We can't thank you enough for casting/streaming and putting up these vids on YouTube. Major kudos! We even made you a special emoticon for Discord, we now use when our servers are sweating all over the place because of all the new players you brought in... "BLAME WINTER". This video in particular really captures the many details you like, which is awesome you took the time to magnify them. These are easily overseen in a generic promo-vid, or just a screenshot or short clip.

So again, Thank you and we all hope you will have many more enjoyable games of BAR!

Jeff Wolf

@Beyond All Reasonas you are clearly rts fans, you must see some similarities with total annihilation, are you guys the same company that made those games but rebranded (like blizzard and frost giant) or are you new devs?

Kopie

@Beyond All Reason No problem. I'll stick with nintendo 64 starcraft brood war emulation then. I like your game, reminds me of supreme commander.

Beyond All Reason

@Kopie An android version, capable of simulation the battles we have might not be on the radar (yet). We're focussing on the best experience (on PC) for now. Maybe when that is (near) perfect...

Kopie

If you make an android version of this, it would be cool. Just add a campaign version with a little bit of story it would be fine. Like humans vs ai robots.

Beyond All Reason

@ADHDgrapher We're curious if BAR could be the straw that breaks the camel's back. We unfortunately cannot demand Apple to enable support for modern OpenGL. If they did, that would be awesome. For now, and maybe for eternity, we could slightly advice to get that gaming PC after all... But only if you can afford it! Please let us know if you did manage to get to play BAR!

[BAR player here, have some vids of it on my own profile here]
One interesting mechanic different from Supreme Commander, Total Annihilation or any other similar game I know of is that in BAR, flanking damage is a thing. The first time a unit's hit, it sets a narrow cone facing the point it got shot from, and then shots from any angle other than that cone will deal proportionally more damage as the angle approaches 180 degrees, up to double damage from the 'rear.' So, even common 'infantry' bots can inflict staggering damage if they get zergling-style surrounds on enemies. Advancing into defense turrets that shoot you from two sides at once is asking to get torn apart. This flanking 'cone' will reset after a few seconds of not getting shot. You can turn on an option to show this cone and a circle that shows relative damage angles.

@DestroyerPrime Sort of. C&C 3's version was to have vehicles vulnerable to attacks from the sides and rear of their model, not whenever they're shot from multiple directions as in BAR.

DestroyerPrime

Command & Conquer 3 from 2007 also had this.

pataponnabil

Oh dang, varying damage based on angle? I think RA3 has flank damage but it's a flat damage modifier.
