At 48 years old I'm just now discovering this album. Damn Bruce, now I see why they call you the Boss. Monster album.

never too late.

I discovered Bruce when I was 19 years old. He was just picking up steam. I'm 66 years old now. Still love his music. Yes, still the Boss.

I was 17 and working in a gin factory in East London. It was 1977 and the year of punk. Every Friday, I would get my wages in a square brown pay packet and rush to the town centre and Simon's music shop. I bought a new album every week. Often, I had not heard the artist but was convinced by word of mouth. Albums I can remember buying included Blondie, Low (Bowie), Bat Out Of Hell and, of course Born To Run. I lived with my wonderful Grandmother and she watched TV while I listened to the albums pumped to my headphones from my cheap HiFi system. I listened to them over and over but, despite many great albums, this was my favourite. I became a teacher and led a better life but I still remember the boy I once was every time I play this album. It was a difficult time and listening to this album helped me escape for a while. Thanks Bruce.

This album NEVER fails to lift me up..

It's been a time warp for Me finding this again. The entire album is awesome.

Stingray 1975

A true masterpiece.

I discovered this album when I was only a child... The music was so perfect, so full of life and humanity, and there was something so cool about this cover... I mean, just by looking at the "Big Man" and Bruce, the way Bruce smiles with his hand on Clarence's shoulder while he plays his sax, the way he looks at him... You could feel all their friendship, the human warmth between them, their true bond... As a (really small) child, even if it was not something conscious of course, I'm sure it prepared my mind so that I understand all the nonsense and the stupidity there is in racism and hatred... Anyway, "Born to Run" is still my favorite album of Bruce Springsteen, and one of my all time favorite rock albums ! :)

Barbara Cook

Wow, I feel what you are saying. If everyone could think that way. Or maybe the need to just discover Bruce.

@Barbara Cook Thank you :)
