This is one of the greatest love songs of all time. It mesmerizes me. I was born in January 1954. Yes, I am a very blessed man. I am 67 years old now and very happily married to the girl that made me feel this way 52 years ago. When I first saw her we were 15 years old. But I knew she was for me. She was so beautiful, petite and feminine. She had a boyfriend then  so I had to  be patient. Before we met I told all my friends that I wanted to marry her someday. I said my prayers and asked God to make my dream come true. I promised, I gave my solumn vow to God, that if He would arrange for me to marry this beautiful, sweet girl that I would never leave her or forsake her. It came to pass 49 years ago. We married at 18 years old and I still cannot stand a moment away from her. Young love is amazing and God is good, especially to me. My wife recently had to make an extended trip without me to nurse our oldest daughter that had a badly injured ankle. I stayed home to care for our farm. While she was away I wrote this poem and sent it to her.
-------------❤️❤️❤️------------------
MY PARTNER
So long together
and still best friends
We share our love
She is my partner
And when she is away
I miss her

We wake up together every day
and have breakfast together
My Partner and I
enjoy our coffee and light talk
We go about our menial chores
until we rejoin for lunch
But when she is away
I miss her

When she is away
I try to find solice
I feed chickens
And tend to all my own needs
But deep inside I long
to hear her sweet voice
She is away right now
And I miss her

She is my Sweetie
My best friend
My partner and I
Her beautiful face fills me
With joy
Her smile lights my fire
Her honey lips mesmerize me
She is away right now
and I miss her

Our lives have flown by
Not so young anymore
The day is fast approaching
That my partner and I may end
up apart

I hope it is me that goes first
Because if it were she I could not bare the pain
But either way
I will miss HER

So much love
Beautiful heartfelt poem
I hope whenever it's time for yall go it will be together.
For i know
The pain of separation
So hard to bear.
But I must carry on
Until we are together oncd again.

Would love a copy of your poem but I cannot copy and paste on yt.

The touch of your lips next to mine
Get me excited, make me feel fine.
The sound of your voice, your sweet hello
The fire inside me, when I'm holding you close.

Your love's so warm and tender.
Your thrill is so devine.
Yet it's All These Things
That make you mine.

If you would leave me, I surely would die.
When you started to go, I started to cry.
Now I've got it bad, but that's alright.
As long as your near me every night.

Your love's so warm and tender.
Your thrill is so divine.
Yet it's All These Things
That make you mine.

I've loved this for years. It's one of the best love songs ever. Was great to see it in the new movie "Eileen" now many more people will get to appreciate its beauty x

I'm 66 now. My whole life I've listened to the Neville Bros. and their songs made me dream of love. I dream of dancing with my husband, Bob, of 43 years. He'a gone now but we're still dancing in my dreams to their songs.

My husband didn't like to dance
But whenever they song would play.
He would look at me and grab my hand and gently take me to the dance floor
I was floored.💞

Such great talent we had in New Orleans. I was blessed to be there in that time. The Neville family Alan Tousant, Fats Domino, Irma Thomas, Pete Fountain, Al Hirt just to name a few. God Bless be at peace and Thanks for the music.

It must be about 60 years since I heard this song. I am glad to have found it on YouTube.

Art was my hometown musician as was his whole family. Here in New Orleans and the suburbs. He was ours and will ever be. Art played at our local dances when y'all didn't know who he was. God bless him and his family. Our hearts break with them in their loss. His music resounds in our blood and hearts forever. God go with you, Art, Allen Toussaint, Dr. John. Play y'all's soul out up there! We'll hear you forever and ever. Please keep playing all their songs and educate the young ones about what great musical talent is all about. Thank you.
