@Anirudh Dark ages didn't last terribly long at least (nor was it that dark).
People often forget Europe was NEVER one united, centralized culture or ethnicity.
Different parts of Europe all experienced different things after Rome fell. Places like the Balkans, the Slavic states and Germanic/Scandinavians (there's more but eh) all didn't get hit terribly hard.
It sucked for, say, Britannia, because they were
A: So far from Rome they were the first to see the light go out.
B: A target of Scandinavian/Germanic settlers/invaders.
C: Is a cold, perpetually wet island that is, again, one of the farthest former Roman provinces from the capital.

The ACTUAL ""Dark Ages" only lasted from the fall of Western Rome up until about 900 AD. By then things were very quickly improving for generally all of Europe as there were now Stronger, centralized states with standing armies (and castles... Rogal Dorn strat was pretty much Europe's entire strategy) that could resist the innumerable enemies of Europe.

ANDRES MORA

Latin, the language of ancient Rome, is the mother of Romance languages, the most beautiful languages in the world:

Magnitudo Populi Romani in aeternitatem latura sit.

(Italiano)

Măretia Grandoarea Romei va dura dăinui pentru eternitate.
(Română)
