Well, the last present's delivered
And the snow outside's gettin' thicker
So let's open that bottle of liquor
Hey, bourbon, take me home

On bourbon, on vodka, on scotch and on gin
Take me back, let the North Pole dancing begin
It's my party I'll be naughty get more lit than a tree
Put that elf on a shelf and Merry Christmas to me

Oh, bourbon, oh, bourbon, oh, bourbon, oh, bourbon
Oh, bourbon, oh, bourbon, oh, bourbon, oh, bourbon
Oh, bourbon, oh, bourbon, oh, bourbon, oh, bourbon, oh, bourbon, on bourbon, on bourbon

Oh, bourbon, oh, bourbon, oh, bourbon

Oh, bourbon, bourbon, bourbon
Oh, bourbon
Oh, bourbon, bourbon, bourbon, bourbon, bourbon, bourbon, bourbon, bourbon, bourbon
Oh, bourbon, oh, oh, oh, oh
Everybody now, oh, bourbon, oh, bourbon
Come on, now, let's hear it, oh, bourbon! Yeah
Give me another one, okay, oh, bourbon, bourbon, bourbon, bourbon
Bourbon, bourbon, bourbon, bourbon, bourbon, bourbon, bourbon, bourbon, bourbon

Bourbon, bourbon, bourbon
Bourbon, bourbon, bourbon, bourbon
Bourbon for me

Oh, bourbon, oh, bourbon, oh, bourbon
Take me home

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to the song "Christmas Spirit" by Various Artists are all about celebrating the holiday season with a little bit of alcohol. The song begins with the last present being delivered and the snow outside getting thicker, signaling that it's time to open a bottle of liquor. The singer then calls out different types of alcohol, including bourbon, vodka, scotch, and gin. They want to let loose and have a good time, saying that it's their party and they can be as naughty as they want to be. They even suggest putting the "elf on a shelf" and having a merry Christmas to themselves.

The chorus of the song is all about bourbon, and it's repeated multiple times throughout. The singer is clearly a fan of bourbon, calling out for it and singing its praises. The song ends with the repeated call of "oh, bourbon, oh, bourbon, oh, bourbon, take me home," signaling that they're ready to end the night with a little help from their favorite drink.

Overall, the song is a fun and lighthearted take on holiday partying, with a focus on enjoying some drinks with friends and family.

When it comes to putting a lot of soul in a song,
no one does it better than African-Americans.
They pioneered that kind of soulful style.
They reign supreme over JAZZ/BLUES/FUNK/RNB/SOUL.
Please feel free to comment.
Thank you.
Peace.

P.S.
There was a time when RNB and Soul really meant
something. Can't find the same joy listening to RNB/Soul
from the 90's to present.

@PopcornWalter

this was the music that I, in my younger days, went out to the various clubs and dancings in Antwerp. Soft swing music. 1000 times better than all the contemporary shitty music of today.
I also immediately subscribed to this channel from Phillysound.
This music brings back so many beautiful memories.
Thanks in advance for sharing these.
