Tema de Beija-Flor
Vital Farias Lyrics

Me senti tão consagrado
Naquele tempo passado
Eu ja senti seu calor
Hoje eu sou um sofredor
E seja pra onde for
O pensamento pensando
Ah se eu fosse um beija-flor,
E de noite tava beijando
Os lábios do meu amor
Te amei com sacrifício
O amor não foi barato
Mandei botar teu retrato
Na porta do edifícil
Pelo momento propício
Enfrentando o sacrifício
Para sentir teu calor
Ah se eu fosse um beija-flor,
De dia tava voando
E de noite tava beijando
Os lábios do meu amor
É eu no Rio de Janeiro
E você la no sertão
E meu amor verdadeiro
Eu guardo no coração
Peço pena a gavião
Ou até da profissão
Que tambem é sonhador
Ah se eu fosse um beija-flor,
De dia tava voando
E de noite tava beijando
Os lábios do meu amor
Te amei com sacrifício
Sendo a passada perdida
Preparei um edifício
Mesmo em frente da guarida
Eu nao quero despedida
Nem palavra conhecida
Sou seu adorador
Ah se eu fosse um beija-flor,
De dia tava voando
E de noite tava beijando
Os lábios do meu amor
The lyrics of Vital Farias's song Tema de Beija-Flor express the yearning and love of a man for his distant lover. He starts by reminiscing about the time when he felt consecrated and loved by his significant other. However, now he is a sufferer, thinking about her all the time, no matter where he goes. The man compares himself to a hummingbird - if only he were a hummingbird, he would fly during the day and kiss his lover's lips at night. The second stanza talks about the sacrifice he made for love, how he got her portrait fixed on the door of his building, but their separation still hurts him. The man asks for mercy from the hawk and others to fulfill his dream of reaching his lover. In the final part, he expresses his desire to be with his lover always, as her devoted lover.
Through his song, Vital Farias has encapsulated the essence of undying love in the face of distance, separation, and hardship. The song conveys the frustrations and longings of someone who has lost the physical presence of his lover, but holds onto the dream that they will someday be together. The lyrics use metaphors to describe the intensity of the singer's emotions and the hummingbird, known for its exceptional beauty, speed, and endurance, symbolizes those emotions.
