Intro
WC Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

*helicopter flies overhead*
(cop) One of twenty, I'm behind the vehicle
And there goes the suspect, he saw us now
*police siren*
*chopper still flying around*
*chains rustling*
Coolio, c'mon man, hurry up!
*chopper makes another pass*
*somebody whistles*
*chains rustling*
*siren stops*
(cop) Back here
Police officer, come on out or I'ma send in the dog
Police officer, come on out or I'ma send in the dog
*whispered "f**k em"*
Front em, front em!!
(WC)
Yeahhhh, beeaaaa!!
Back up in the mutha-f**ka
Crawlin up the letter to skanless
Givin it up, straight holdin my nuts
Dub-C nigga, still chanky as f**k
Fresh out, so f**k the world nigga
This is MAAD Circle to the fullest, everybody killa
Takin it back to the days of drum loops
And lyrical skills, before niggaz got record deals
The dope game, when beats was the product
And only those with mic control made a profit
Before the shady ass contracts and restrictions
When niggaz true to this ruled the underground connection
Back to the days of hardcore

So lock your doors, here comes the MAAD Circle
"You know, we do whatever we do to survive"

Overall Meaning

The song "Intro" by WC opens with the sounds of a hovering helicopter, followed by the voice of a police officer chasing a suspect in a vehicle. The tension in the scene is palpable, with the sounds of chains rustling and someone urging Coolio to hurry up. Soon the police siren stops, and there is a whispered expletive before WC starts rapping.

The lyrics of the song are a tribute to WC's former group, MAAD Circle, and the heyday of West Coast gangsta rap. He reminisces about the days of drum loops and lyrical skills before record deals corrupted the scene. He takes pride in his chanky (ghetto) identity and asserts that everyone in MAAD Circle is a killer. The message of the song is that they do whatever they need to survive in a tough environment.

Overall, the song "Intro" captures the atmosphere of a bygone era in hip hop when West Coast gangsta rap was at its peak. The gritty, uncompromising lyrics and aggressive beats evoke a world of violence and danger that is both fascinating and disturbing.

The 2010 and 2014 intros are the best to me....I could watch them over and over. The 2022 Qatar opening is growing on me.

But qatar is a nasty country

@gre8

I really like the Qatar opening. Love the instrumental and the colour palette. I think it is pretty tasteful and gives off hopeful tones to it all.
