There was also a band named Wakefield from North Carolina in the mid to late 90s that played alt-rock music. The band released one album independently in 1999 that was self-titled. The tracks on the album are "And I Stare," "Ground Xero," "Lost," "Bitch is on Fire," "The Girl Song," "Quick," "Beauty Queen," "The Swing Song," "Into the Dark," "Savior," "Hello," "Angel," "Irregular" and "Symphony Four." The band split up shortly after the album was released.
A third, and much older band also known as Wakefield:
From Pueblo, Colorado this psychedelic rock band formed in 1969 and continued to play all over the Pacific Northwest until their break up in 1974. The band recorded a concept album for Warthog Studios in Denver between 1971 and 72. (FREAKEMPORIUM)

You needed face down
I tried to tell you this
I hit you back
There was no impact
The smarter you are
The harder it is
And there's no use calling out
I'm making my way out
Cause when you hit the pavement
I don't wanna be around
Whatever who you're climbing out
I know you're all back down
And nothing I can do will save you
So I don't wanna be around
Already done
Burning since day one
You have taken this to far
You forced it down
Like it's something bad now
But I don't mind
It's what you hide inside
[Chorus]
And there's no use calling out
I'm making my way out
And I'm not gonna blame you
But I don't wanna be around
Whatever who you're climbing out
I know you're all back down
And nothing I can do will save you
So I don't wanna be around
[Bridge]
When Everything is rattling
What you bring will det-toe-nate us all
DET-TOE-NATE us all
She turned it off
Had enough
Find the pulse
Don't you let it fall
DON'T YOU LET IT FALL
I don't wanna be around
[Chorus]
And there's no use calling out
I'm making my way out
Cause when you hit the pavement
But I don't wanna be around
Whatever who you're climbing now
I know you're all back down
And nothing I can do will save you
So I don't wanna be around
Leave you
I don't wanna be around [x2]
When everything is rattling
What you bring
I don't wanna be around
Had enough
Give it up
Your just stuck
I don't wanna be around
The lyrics of Wakefield's song "Around" seem to be about someone who is struggling and needing help, but repeatedly ignoring or rejecting the singer's attempts to help them. The opening lines convey the idea that the person needs to be brought down to earth, face reality, and see things for what they really are. However, when the singer tries to confront them about this, there is no impact or change in behavior. The chorus is a proclamation of the singer's decision to distance themselves from the person and the situation, and not be around when the inevitable fall or failure occurs. They know that no matter how hard they try, they can't save this person, and maybe it's time for them to sever ties and move on. The verse "You forced it down, like it's something bad now, but I don't mind, it's what you hide inside" seems to suggest that the person is ashamed of something, maybe their struggles or feelings, and is trying to suppress them, but the singer is accepting of whatever is going on and just wants to help.
The bridge is a warning that the person's behavior could have dire consequences, and that they need to be careful about what they bring into the situation. If they continue to ignore the warning signs and refuse help, the situation could "detonate" and hurt everyone involved. The final chorus repeats the singer's decision to leave, and the final lines "Give it up, you're just stuck" seem to imply that the person is trapped in their situation and maybe beyond help.
