1) Warlord is one of those little known bands who should have earned much more fame. Their first album "Deliver us" was published in the early '80s (1983) and it was enough, along with "And The Cannons Of Destruction Have Begun" that followed with only few more new songs, to make them a historical metal band of the early US power metal scene. The style is progressive, melodic heavy metal of exceptional inspiration and great musical talent. Standout tracks are "Winter Tears", "Child of the Damned", "Black Mass", and the monumental "Lucifer's Hammer". The vocals are very melodic which contrasts with the heavy rythym and guitar riffs. Guitar playing is very solid with technical solos. Songs are well constructed and carry a deep, strong feeling. It is a shame that they never really got the attention that they deserved. Nevertheless, their drummer, Thunder Child, made a great career-he is actually, Mark Zonder of Fates Warning. Metal fans who appreciate epic and early power scene should not miss them!
Recently, in the year 2002, Destroyer (guitarist W.Tsamis) returned with M.Zonder (drums, of course) and J.Cans (vocals) and published Warlord's "Rising Out From The Ashes". And the legendary Warlord proved again the dark power of epic metal...
2) Warlord came along in the mid to late 90's and only had two releases on Solid State Records. The first was a self titled EP containing four songs released in 1997.
The second was titled Rock The Foe Hammer and was released in 1999. They broke up shortly after the second release. Their musical style has been labeled as "doomcore".
3) Warlord is a Finnish chiptune/demoscene/metalscene artist Warlord (1997->).
4) Warlord were active in the 1970's. They were from the UK, and they played heavy doom metal with progressive and psychedelic elements. Their only official release is a self-titled compilation album from 2002.
5) Warlord is a rapper from the West Coast and rode with Death Row Records

Winds of Thor
Warlord Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
I heard the hammer in the wind
It was a day we will remember,
For the Winds of Thor their story would begin.
For you are the rich man, and we are the poor
You have the power, but the force we have will blow forever more.
Winds of Thor, Winds of Thor . . .
Now you've come to our village,
And you've taken all that we have.
And your king sends his brigades,
To take our lives and lead us to our deaths.
For you are the mighty, and we are the low
You have the power, but the force we have will roar forever more.
Winds of Thor, Winds of Thor . . .
The warships of Odin have landed,
The thunders of Thor have sounded,
And now you will fall in the valley of tears . . .
We will invoke the mighty Winds of Thor
We will invoke the mighty Winds of Thor
We will invoke the mighty Winds of Thor
We will invoke the mighty Winds of Thor
The opening lines of the song "Winds of Thor" by Warlord describes a dark day in December where the hammer of Thor is heard howling in the wind. This sets the tone of the song as one of battle and conflict, with themes of power struggle and oppression. The lyrics describe a time of injustice, where the richer and more powerful have taken everything from the poor, and the weak are left with nothing. The winds of Thor symbolize the natural power and strength that the oppressed have at their disposal, a force that they call upon to resist their oppressors.
The second verse further illustrates the power imbalance between the two opposing sides. The lyrics suggest that the mighty and high-status oppressors have taken everything from the vulnerable and powerless. However, the oppressed are not without strength. The metaphor of the "roar" of the winds of Thor exemplifies their determination and will to fight against the oppressors.
The final lines of the lyrics describe the final battle between the two sides. The Vikings, representing Odin and Thor, have arrived and the oppressors will face their downfall in the valley of tears. The chant of "We will invoke the mighty Winds of Thor," is a declaration of the oppressed people's determination to fight against their oppressors, and to summon the power of Thor to overcome their adversaries.
Overall, "Winds of Thor" is a song about the powerful will of the oppressed to fight against their oppressors and to use their natural strength and energies in this fight. The use of Viking imagery and mythology highlights the theme of natural power and the belief that one's fate is in their own hands.
