Aos 22 anos de idade iniciou-se na música buscando se profissionalizar tocando em uma banda chamada Califórnia Rios.
Com a experiência musical que adquiriu na banda e o convivio com os colegas nordestinos que conheceu em empresas onde trabalhou, Washington Brasileiro (WB) resolveu tocar forró na noite paulista, como não obteve apoio dos integrantes da banda, WB decidiu seguir carreira solo.
Em 1998 lançou seu primeiro CD, contendo o repertório que tocava todas as noites, atendendo solicitações de seus próprios fãs.
Depois de muitas batalhas travaadas ao encontro do sucesso, WB possui mais de 10 discos gravados, com shows assistidos por todo o território nacional pelos fãs de forró, através de seus 3 DVDs lançados pela Califórnia Produções e distribuídos pela MD Music. Os DVDs tiveram uma alta aceitação do público de todas as idades.
