i think what you're after here, is that the vocal needs to be notably 'bigger' ... (the right kind of) compression would be a part of that ... it "needs" a lot more affecting, imho, to become what it could be, and now we're changing the scope and zooming in to a producer's lens ... to me, this vocal (AND the instrumentation) screams a need for Bon Iver effecting / affecting and harmonizing ... the chord progression, and her style of singing, is already almost there ... check it (it will be worth your time) along with affecting to the accoustic instruments, would make this track speak to people in a much more notable way ... i'm tempted to try and stem it just to pull this off ... if it were up for a remix contest, i would do it in a heartbeat.

Anyone else experiencing to much Wave Tune e.g. at 1:07? Such a great voice. That doesn’t seem to be right. Of course, it might meet expectations for „modern“ sounding pop or edm vocals, but - for me - sucks out any feeling. EQ sounds good tough.

First step, put vocal correction on a vocal that doesn't need it. No need for any more steps as there's nothing you could possibly do at this point to prevent it from sounding like utter crap except remove the Waves tune plugin. I would rather listen to finger nails scraping a blackboard than pitch corrected vocal.

And second of all, he could ask me why I didn't like it and what would I change to make it sound different (maybe not better, just different)
