Glorious
Wayne Jackson Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Your beauty mystifies and speaks in semaphore.
I hang on every word, your eyes like restless birds,
Scatterd and disturbed on every shore.
Glorious, with every stolen line.
I feel glorious and the stars that shine are glorious,
Like the sunlight hits the sea,
You are glorious, glorious to me.
And the way your dresses cling,
Devour me from within and leace me needing more.
The perfection of your crimes, it gets me every time.
Your courage is sublime, of this I´m sure.
Glorious, with every stolen line.
I feel glorious and the stars that shine are glorious,
Like the sunlight hits the sea,
You are glorious, glorious to me.
She´s tripping on high heels,
As she lets go of the steering wheel.
She, she brings me threes, a single ship,
Amd we sail on cubic seas.
Glorious, with every stolen line.
I feel glorious and the stars that shine are glorious,
Like the sunlight hits the sea,
You are glorious, glorious to me.
In this song, Wayne Jackson describes his intense admiration for a woman who is mysterious and alluring. He suggests that he can see through her facade and understand her true beauty, which captivates him completely. He hangs on her every word and studies her every movement as if he is trying to solve a puzzle. He describes the way she smells and the way her dresses cling to her body, which leaves him feeling entirely consumed by her. Despite recognizing that she may not be entirely honest with him, he finds her courageous and sublime, and he can't help but feel glorious whenever he is with her.
The lyrics of this song are quite intricate and describe a complex relationship between the singer and the woman he admires. It suggests that the woman is not entirely forthcoming with him, but despite this, he is entirely enamored with her. The use of metaphors such as "penetration eyes" and "restless birds" suggest that the singer is entirely consumed by his attraction to this woman and cannot help but be drawn to her. Overall, the lyrics of this song give the impression of a passionate and intricate relationship that is full of tension and contradiction.
