I kinda wanted it to weigh just a little heavier on the "making it our own" side. Just a wee bit. Still enjoyable though.
If you want to check a version thats really "making it our own". check out "Ted Leo and the Pharmacists AV club". It really has the rawness of a live performance, because it is

I find their cover of No Scrubs hilarious. The fact that they kept the original lyrics to the song was hilarious to me.

I think this sounds like Tears for Fears. Just because Rivers Cuomo is singing doesn't make it sound like Weezer. This is a faithful recreation of the song and it was done really well but it wasn't "Weezer-ified" other than the fact that the band is playing the song.
