After growing Skyharbor as one of India's biggest rock bands with songwriter Keshav Dhar, including taking the stage with acts such as Lamb of God and Deftones, the pair collaborated on Tompkins' new Contemporary Pop project with progressive and experimental music at its heart.
'Atone', the new album from WMBB, is masterfully built on organic, textured and cinematic sounds, with two opposing themes of loss and hope. Tompkins explains - "Whilst songs like "Tempest" and "Atone" focus on faith and forgiveness, others like "Rising Sun" and "An Ocean Away" linger on love and nostalgia; throwing the listener into a bygone world of having less and caring more. The front cover artwork captures the beauty of nature and the harsh realities of life: power and dominance. White Moth Black Butterfly represents that very same struggle."
The album was recorded across the globe at studios in India, the UK, US and Taiwan, bringing in their international roster of performers. This included the band's other writers: Randy Slaugh, the producer and string arranger for Skyharbor in the US, who has also worked with Devin Townsend, Architects and Periphery; and co-singer and lyricist Jordan Turner.

That are tangled around us?
Will they try to surrender the game
Can you feel the fire inbetween
The morning and the nighttime?
The moments that we leave behind
Burn beneath the starlight
Always holding on
Never giving up on this
Well a wish is not enough
All the visions the memories filling up
I want to rip em out of me
But I don't think I'm strong enough
Will they fall
Patience collapsing in a heap on the floor
Will they see the travel-worn decay
Can you see the memories I keep
They play out in the nighttime
Bewitching but I'll be alright
Just hold me til' the sunlight
We're just dreamers
Always holding on
Never giving up on this
Well a wish is not enough
All the visions the memories filling up
I want to rip em out of me
But I don't think I'm strong enough
Should I fold
What if time was solid gold?
Could I end this
Like a wave that's ending, force relenting?
Should I ache?
Tell me could I stay in this open cage?
Cos' we're just dreamers
Always holding on
Never giving up on this
Well a wish is not enough
All the visions the memories that I own
I want to rip em out of me
Well a wish is not enough
In the first few verses of "Soma" by White Moth Black Butterfly, the lyrics seem to speak to feelings of being caught in a dream-like state, surrounded by tangled emotions and uncertainties. The mention of surrendering the game and the fire between morning and nighttime suggest a struggle between reality and imagination, between letting go and holding on to aspirations. The imagery of moments left behind burning beneath the starlight adds a sense of longing and intensity to the emotions being expressed.
The chorus repeats the idea of being dreamers who refuse to give up, emphasizing the desire to break free from overwhelming visions and memories that seem to consume the singer. There is a sense of inner conflict and vulnerability as the singer questions their own strength to overcome these challenges, highlighting a deep emotional struggle within themselves.
As the song progresses, the lyrics delve into themes of patience wearing thin, memories haunting the nighttime, and the need for reassurance and comfort until the sunlight breaks through. There is a sense of resignation and acceptance towards the difficulties faced, yet a lingering hope or belief that things will eventually be alright. The repetition of the chorus reinforces the idea of holding on to dreams despite the overwhelming weight of memories and visions.
The final verses introduce an introspective tone, with questions about whether to give in to the passing of time or continue holding on, as if time itself were a precious and fleeting commodity. The mention of an "open cage" suggests a sense of confinement or limitation, echoing the earlier themes of feeling trapped within one's own thoughts and experiences. The song ends on a poignant note, reiterating the idea that mere wishes are not enough to dispel the overwhelming flood of memories and desires that plague the singer's mind.

This band represents some of the best music of any type to come out in the last 20 years or more. The brilliant melody, harmony and thoughtfulness of the lyrics combined with one of the best male/female duets is absolutely mind blowing. Daniel and Jordan please keep making music for us! The world needs it right now!

The talent and emotional connection between Dan and Jordan cannot be described -- it can only be felt. I know Dan said this album just fell together so naturally and quickly between them, and it's obvious why. This music is just something that hits you down to your bones.

I've just found your music on my favorite site with metal music downloads. When I see tags like electronic/progressive pop among heavy metal and metalcore albums, uploaded by a metalhead, it means that it's worth trying! And I'm not disappointed that I discovered your music. I'm sure it will stay with me for a long time. And hope to see you play in Poland one day. Much love!

Which is the site where you find music? Could you please tell me?
Thanks.

Daniel and Jordan are fundamentally incapable of producing bad music. This is sooooo good!
