Kriemhild Story
White Skull Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Of the king and the queen of Burgundy
One day the valiant Siegfried came to her court
The noble prince she would love and marry
They were as happy as only lovers can be
Ten years gone by in peace they were living
She couldn't know the cruel Hagen had plot
Her husband death Siegfried the hero
[chorus]
He deceived the gentle queen
Her husband's secret she revealed
Then he met the poor Siegfried
Through' his body he drove his spear
She fell senseless upon him
Cursing Hagen treachery
She'd avenge her dead beloved
Kriemhild mournin had just began
The song "Kriemhild Story" by White Skull retells the story of Kriemhild, a princess from Burgundy who falls in love with the valiant prince Siegfried. The two get married and enjoy ten years of peace and love. However, Kriemhild is unaware of the cruel plot hatched by Hagen, who reveals the secret of Siegfried's weakness to the enemy, leading to his death. Hagen then kills Siegfried with a spear, causing Kriemhild to fall senseless upon him. The song ends with Kriemhild mourning the loss of her beloved and vowing to seek revenge on Hagen.
The lyrics convey the heartbreaking tragedy of Kriemhild's life, who loses everything she holds dear due to the evil machinations of those around her. The story draws upon the themes of deceit, treachery, and betrayal, highlighting the importance of trust and loyalty in relationships.
