It's May 2023 and Willie Nelson is 90 years old. Still playing his guitar and singing to all of us. This man is an American icon! God Bless You Willie!

I absolutely love hearing Willie sing and strum Trigger. A definite highlight of my day!

There's no need to explain to him that, "in summertime trains run every ten minutes" 1:03

Since 1969, Nelson has primarily played a Martin N-20 classical guitar with a Baldwin Prismatone pickup. It's as fancy as you'd expect a Martin to be. It isn't very highly decorated, but its top is Sitka spruce, its back and sides are Brazilian rosewood. Nelson met the nylon string Martin guitar in 1969 after a drunk destroyed his last guitar. Nelson bought it sight-unseen and gave it a name. “I named my guitar Trigger because it's kind of my horse,” he explains. “Roy Rogers had a horse called Trigger.” 2:13 [Range of Sounds; Rolling Stone; Stringjoy]

The guitar wielded by Willie Nelson, Trigger, is one of the most recognizable and well-known instruments in music history. He purchased the Martin N-20 nylon-string classical acoustic guitar for $750 in 1969. Trigger is currently valued at around $800k-900k dollars. It is assumed that this item was manufactured between 1969 and 1972. 3:13 [FuelRocks]
