Woe Is Me Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
But the walls around my heart
Don't deserve the riches of
Your bright and peaceful world
Your horizon
Shining bright every night
Your horizon comforts me
There's no one else in the know these days
About the milling crowds in our eyes
But it's when my eyes came straight away
That I know this much is true
Your horizon
Shining bright every night
Your horizon comforts me
Your horizon
Shining bright every night
You horizon comforts me
The lyrics of Woe Is Me's song "I" convey feelings of isolation and unworthiness, yet finding comfort in someone else's shining light. The first verse touches upon the fleeting nature of morning turning into day and how the singer's heart is walled off and not deserving of the brighter world around them. The second verse speaks to the singer's feelings of being alone in understanding the struggles they and others face, but finding truth and comfort in the presence of the other person's comforting horizon.
The chorus repeats the lines "Your horizon/Shining bright every night/Your horizon comforts me" twice, emphasizing the importance and impact the other person has on the singer's life. The repetition also serves as a reminder that even though the singer may feel isolated and undeserving, there is still hope and comfort to be found in someone else's presence.
Overall, the lyrics of "I" speak to the universal feeling of worthlessness and isolation, but also offer a glimmer of hope and comfort in the form of human connection and understanding.

A lot of people also forget that the lead guitarist on Number[S] tim sherrill was a big part of their old sound. It is a shame he left after their first tour:/

god, I love the harmonies at around the 1 minute mark. More metalcore needs that shit. It's so good.

I can't help but notice, a few years later...admittedly, if you pay close attention the way the vocals and the guitar work @01:43....the harmonies were already their man....its a good one though, cant lie.
It just happens to be the end of a bridge from another band.
Woe is me is still great, I don't think they stole it.
I'm just pointing it out...don't kill the messenger.
