Dimension
Wolfmother Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

I fell down in the desert, baby
I had nothing but a piece of paper, yeah
I had to write something down
And I found myself alone
And then I let go of everything
Into another dimension

Lightning crash on the hill tonight (yeah)
I got a feeling everything's gonna be all right
Then a horse came running to me
Said we're gonna go to the sanctuary
Then a storm began to blow
Into another dimension

Purple haze is in the sky
See the angels--we die
All these things we bow astride
Till we see the reasons why, oh yeah

I fell in the desert, baby, yeah
I had nothing but a piece of paper, why?
I had to write something down
But then I found myself alone

Then I let go of everything
Into another dimension

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of "Dimension" by Wolfmother describe the journey of someone who, feeling lost in the desert, finds himself by letting go of everything and entering a new dimension. The first two lines of the song set the scene: the singer is in the desert, with nothing but a piece of paper to write something down. From there, the song takes a mystical turn, as the singer speaks of lightning crashing on the hill and feeling that everything will be okay. Then a horse appears and tells the singer that they will go to a sanctuary.

The song speaks of letting go of everything and entering another dimension. This can be interpreted both as a physical journey and a metaphorical one. It could be that the singer is actually in another physical dimension or that he has entered a new state of consciousness where he has found enlightenment. The song leaves the interpretation up to the listener.

Overall, the lyrics of "Dimension" express a feeling of transcendence and the idea that sometimes we need to let go of everything in order to find our way.

Wilson: so STOP taking the vicodin.
House: i wanna be able to pee and not be in pain
Wilson: you said you saw this patient in your dream and now your seeing him in real life and now you're obsessing causing other fundamentals in your life to stop working
House: Im not obsessing!
Wilson: so, talk to him!
House: I HAVENT PEED IN THREE DAYS!!!

@@stepbro7850 I can’t tell if you’re trolling or legitimately believe it’s a new song. If it’s the latter, then I feel obligated to inform you that this song comes from Wolfmother’s debut, self titled album - initially released in Australia in October 2005, before being released internationally at various dates the following year. The song and album are almost 16 years old, definitely not new.

The thing is thar bands releasing their classic/older material on YouTube is VERY common, especially if they’re releasing remastered versions or special editions of their earlier albums. Metallica just did that pretty recently for the release of their 30th Anniversary Remastered version of the 1991 “Black Album”.
