Many DJ’s claim to have music in their blood , a so called passion that has always been there. A story told over and over, however every now and then its actually the truth…
Raised in a household that’s was music mad, Mathew Ladgrove aka Wongo was exposed to all sorts of music delights from a very young age taking in some classic artists and music genres throughout the years, moulding that musical brain of his slowly but surely nurturing it to its current mould of what he calls “wig out “.
After crafting his trade as an early teen as one of the countrys most talented and prolific breakdancers , solo and with the acclaimed breakdance crew Skill @Will Wongos hard work ethic and natural talent for that something a little wild and crazy became apparent. After years of relentless breaking Wongos heart and interest started to lean towards dance music.
Learning his craft following initially down the track of quirky minimal and techno from the likes of Luciano, Frankie, Massi DL, Richie Hawtin and so forth Wongo started to start this whirlwind journey of sorts, however it wasn’t until he heard the sounds of artist Solid Groove and there selection of cutting edge remixes that he knew where his heart lay and he instantly knew that’s where it was at for him.
A year on and with a work ethic applied as hard as his breakdancing in earlier years with music production, Wongo’s discography is nothing short of impressive with original material released on Cleanhouse music and upcoming on Union Records, released bootlegs of Queen and Busta Rhymes, as well as remixes for artists Full Phat, YoDisko and Luke Ladgroove. However perhaps his most exciting releases is the forthcoming ep signed to ESP Records with a remix package courtesy of Hijack and Nic Sarno along with a Jack Union release with Heavyweight players Hijack and Lee Mortimer on remix duty.
Along with all this. Wongo has endeavoured in a new side project with Raye Antonelli under the outfit name Pow! Pow!, and together have secured their first two remixes on heavyweight labels Ministry of Sound Australia and Domino Records.
To date you can find Wongos tunes in the playlists of artists like Edu K, Scott Cooper, Clark Able, Hijack and many more. This story is only starting for this young kid known as Wongo… not only is he playing music he is making it… so let it begin

Hit the club baby, damn it'll be done
Who's gonna be to blame, that'll be you
Cause who's caught up in the game, that'll be you
The lyrics to Wongo's song "Caught Up" reflect the feeling of being trapped in a cycle of partying and hedonism. The singer is tired of feeling overwhelmed by their emotions and considers numbing themselves with drugs or alcohol. They suggest going to a club as a way to forget their troubles and escape from reality. However, the song also suggests that this cycle of escapism is self-destructive and ultimately futile. The singer acknowledges that they will be the one to suffer the consequences of their actions and that they alone are responsible for their behavior.
The lyrics to "Caught Up" speak to a common experience among young people who feel disenchanted with their lives and turn to drugs or alcohol to cope. The song's message is both cautionary and empathetic, acknowledging the difficulty of breaking free from destructive patterns while also urging listeners to take responsibility for their choices. The powerful production adds a sense of urgency to the lyrics, creating an irresistible sense of momentum that draws the listener in and encourages them to dance.
Overall, "Caught Up" is a powerful and insightful song that speaks to the struggles of a generation. Its somber message is balanced by an infectious beat and inspired production, making it a standout track in Wongo's already impressive discography.
