All of That Love from Here

An old man working in the mill
I can see loadin' the trunk of my old blue Oldsmobile
I see the tears in my mama's eyes
When she kissed her baby goodbye
I can still feel all of that love from here
[Chorus]
I can see the cotton sheets
They're swingin' in the wind, out swingin' in the wind
I close my eyes and my mind flies
And I'm right back home again
I'm right back home and
I can get lost while I'm chasing my dreams
I find my way 'cause my heart has wings
And I can still feel all of that love from here
I was raised on love's foundation
The Rock of Ages goes unshaken
The faith and hope that was given to me is stronger than the blackjack tree
My mama taught me how to stand alone
She let me go but she still holds on
And I can still feel all of that love from here
[Chorus]
Wynonna Judd's song All of That Love from Here is a nostalgic reflection on her childhood and the love that she received from her family. The first stanza begins with Wynonna picturing a cotton field, an image often associated with southern culture and a reminder of where she comes from. She also mentions an old man working at the mill, which could be a reference to the industrial decline of many small towns in the south. The line "loadin' the trunk of my old blue Oldsmobile" is a nod to her youth and the car that she drove. Finally, she remembers the tears in her mother's eyes as she left home, a poignant reminder of how much she was loved.
The chorus is a continuation of this reflection on her past. She paints a picture of cotton sheets blowing in the breeze, again evoking a sense of southern nostalgia. She closes her eyes and remembers her home, a place where she can always return in her mind. Although she may have left home to pursue her dreams, the love that she received from her family remains a constant source of strength and comfort for her.
The second verse is a tribute to the values that Wynonna's mother instilled in her. She talks about being raised on a foundation of love and faith, and how those values have sustained her throughout her life. The line "stronger than the blackjack tree" is a reference to a tough and resilient species of tree that is often found in the south. Wynonna also acknowledges that her mother let her go, but that she still holds on to the love that she received from her. Once again, she emphasizes how important this love has been in shaping who she is today.
Overall, All of That Love from Here is a heartfelt tribute to the love and support that Wynonna received from her family throughout her life. It is a reminder of the importance of roots, values, and the people who shape us.
