I feel my temperature rising
Higher and higher
It's burning through to my soul
Baby, baby, baby
Your gonna set me on fire
My brain is flaming
I don't know which way to go
Cuz Your kisses lift me higher
Like the sweet song of a choir
You light my morning sky
With burning love
Ooh, ooh, ooh,
I feel my temperature rising
Help me, I'm flaming
I must be a hundred and nine
Burning, burning, burning
Nothing can cool me
I just might turn into smoke
But I feel fine
Cause your kisses lift me higher
Like a sweet song of a choir
You light my morning sky
With burning love
With burning love
it's coming closer
The flames they're licking my body
Won't you help me
I feel like I'm slipping away
It's hard to breathe
And my chest is just a-heaving
Lord have Mercy
its burning a hole in me
Cause your kisses lift me higher
Like the sweet song of a choir
You light my morning sky
With burning love
(With burning love)
Buring love
(Burning love)
I'm just a hunk, a hunk of burning love
I'm just a hunk, a hunk of burning love
I'm just a hunk, a hunk of burning love
I'm just a hunk, a hunk of burning love
I'm just a hunk, a hunk of burning love
I'm just a hunk, a hunk of burning love
I'm just a hunk, a hunk of burning love
I'm just a hunk, a hunk of burning love
I'm just a hunk, a hunk of burning love
The lyrics of the song Burning Love by Wynonna Judd are about the intensity of romantic passion. The opening lines, "Lord Almighty, I feel my temperature rising" suggest that the singer is becoming physically aroused by her lover. The feeling is so intense that it is "burning through" to her soul. She is consumed by her desire and cannot control it. She is "flaming," and her "brain is flaming" as well. She doesn't know which way to go, and the only thing she wants is to be with her lover.
The chorus of the song talks about how the kisses of her lover lift her higher, like a sweet song of a choir. Her lover's love is so intense that it lights up her morning sky with "burning love." Even though the flames are getting closer and licking her body, she feels fine because her lover's presence makes everything worth it.
The bridge of the song describes the physical toll that the passion is taking on her. She can hardly breathe, and her chest is "heaving," but she doesn't want it to stop because the "burning love" is worth it. The repetition of "I'm just a hunk, a hunk of burning love" at the end of the song reinforces the idea that the singer is completely consumed by her passion.
