Onfroy's most popular song to-date is Look at Me, which was originally released in 2016 and re-released in 2017, and peaked at number 42 on US Billboard Hot 100. The single helped him gain more popularity in early 2017 due to accusations of Canadian rapper Drake using a similar rap flow in his then unreleased song, now released under the name "KMT", that he previewed at a concert in Amsterdam featuring British rapper Giggs.
In July 2016, Onfroy was arrested and charged with robbery and assault with a deadly weapon. After posting bail in early October of the same year, while awaiting trial, Onfroy was arrested again later that month on charges of false imprisonment, witness tampering, and aggravated battery of a pregnant victim. Onfroy was released from jail on bail on March 26, 2017.
Onfroy announced his debut studio album, 17 on July 30, 2017. The album released on August 25, 2017. It features 11 tracks and includes the lead single Revenge.
Onfroy was shot and killed on June 18, 2018, in Deerfield Beach, Florida.

Na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na
Na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na
The lyrics of "Depression & Obsession" by XXXTENTACION explore the pain and difficulties that come with struggling with depression and obsession. The opening lines repeat the same phrase of "na, na, na," creating a sense of monotony and emptiness, which could be seen as a reflection of the artist's inner struggle. The following lines reveal the main themes of the song, as XXXTENTACION makes it clear that "Depression and obsession don't mix well." These words suggest that the combination of these two feelings can be destructive and lead to harmful behavior.
The next line, "I'm poisoned, and my body don't feel well," illustrates the physical symptoms of depression, which can cause a sense of sickness, fatigue, and hopelessness. The lines "I ate her inside and out, I feel my stomach turning" might seem violent and disturbing at first, but they represent the way the artist feels consumed and overwhelmed by his obsession with another person. The lines "Make out hill, where we met, we let our lips do all the talking" reveal a moment of intimacy and vulnerability between the artist and his love interest, but this moment becomes an addiction, as XXXTENTACION admits he is "hooked." The final lines of the chorus, "Hollywood motels, hell, I think I'm just obsessed with you," depict a sense of loneliness and desperation, as the artist is trapped in a cycle of unhealthy thoughts and behavior.
Overall, the lyrics of "Depression & Obsession" are raw and confessional, showcasing the intense emotions that come with mental illness and the pitfalls of obsession. The song offers an honest and compelling look at a dark and complex emotional landscape.

"I ate her" 😂😂 deadass. He's referring to his ex, Geneva. It's "I'm poisoned, and my body don't feel well. I HATE her, Inside and out I feel my stomach turnin'". X compares being with this woman to eating poisonous food to point out just how toxic their relationship was. Jesus Christ. "I ate her" 😂😂😂😂😂. Note - NEVER trust Google for lyrics. If you ever want lyrics, go to Genius. They're always correct. Google, with 90% of songs, has incorrect lyrics.
If you don't believe it, the next line PROVES it - "Make out hill, Where we met and let our lips do all the talkin'" - if you were ACTUALLY an X fan, you'd know that Make Out Hill is where he met Geneva for the first time. So to whomever actually thinks this whole album is pretty much dedicated to Jocelyn Flores, do your research. The song both shows how depressed he is thinking about not having her anymore, as well as reminding him how me is still just obsessed with her even after not having her anymore.
Again, later in the song, "Hollywood motels" referring to Hollywood in Broward County, Florida, which was an area close to where X grew up. Reminiscing about a period of time when with Geneva, where he didn't have his own place, so more than likely stayed in motels in Hollywood (Broward County, Florida), with Geneva so they had their own space.
