Make It out Alive
Yashin Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Will we make it
Out
Alive
This is eating us alive,
Is this what it feels like,
To be left behind?
And pretend we're strong,
Keep ourselves, lost behind these walls.
This is eating us alive.
This, is, eating us, alive.
Will we make it out alive?
Standing still just you and I.
This is a war tonight,
This is a war tonight,
This is a war tonight!
This is ripping us apart,
Can we make a new start?
A new start?
We will carry on, and still stay strong,
and show the world, where they went wrong.
Will we make it out alive?
Standing still just you and I.
This is a war tonight,
This is a war tonight,
This is a war tonight!
They'll never breakaway!
You'll never take me away from what we swore we'd all be,
Look back and you'll see.
That we die for (roads ray?)
All along have we been wrong?
Taken all we can and run.
All along have we been wrong?
Taken all we can and run.
All along have we been wrong?
All along have we been
(background-
Will we make it out alive?
Standing still just you and I.
Will we make it out alive?)
What have we done?
And what have we become?
What have we done?
And what have we become?
What have we done?
And what have we become?
Will we make it out alive?
Standing still just you and I.
The lyrics of Yashin's "Make It out Alive" express a sense of desperation and anxiety as the singer reflects on their current situation. The chorus repeats the question "will we make it out alive?" as the singer wonders if they will survive the challenges they are facing. The first verse describes the overwhelming feeling of being left behind and the pain that it causes, while the second verse speaks to the struggle of trying to move forward and start over. The pre-chorus acknowledges the need to stay strong, even though it may be difficult, and the line "this is eating us alive" brings us back to the theme of being consumed by these troubles.
The bridge of the song is particularly poignant, with the lyrics "What have we done? And what have we become?" serving as a crescendo that leads into the final chorus, which repeats the question of whether or not they will be able to make it. The lines "all along have we been wrong, taken all we can and run" suggest that there may be some acknowledgement of past mistakes or regrets, but despite this, the singer is determined to keep moving forward.
Overall, "Make It out Alive" is a somber track that captures the struggle of persevering through difficult times. The lyrics convey a sense of introspection and contemplation that is relatable to anyone who has ever faced adversity.
