Travel back in time with you to where this all began
We could hide inside ourselves and leave the world behind
Make believe there's something left to find
[Chorus]
We'll be miles apart
I'll keep you deep inside you're always in my heart
I may be leaving but you're always in my heart
Now we've all grown up, gone on and moved away
Nothing I can do about it, nothing I can say
To bring us back to where we were when life was not this hard
Looking back it all just seemed so far, so far away
[Chorus]
I'd give it up for just one more day with you
Give it up for just one more day
I'd give it up for just one more day with you
I'd give it up for just one more day with you
I'd give it up for just one more day with you
Give it up, give it all away
I'd give it up for just one more day with you
[Chorus]
I need you now, we're miles apart
I'll keep you deep inside you're always in my heart
I need you now, we're miles apart
I may be leaving, but you're always in my heart
The song "Miles Apart" by Yellowcard is about the strong bond between two lovers who had to go their separate ways. The singer wishes that he could go back in time and relive the moments he spent with his lover. He hopes to escape reality with his lover and leave everything behind. The chorus repeats the message of the couple being separated by distance, but the singer assures his lover that she will always be in his heart.
As the song progresses, the singer acknowledges that both of them have grown up and moved on with their lives. He understands that there is nothing he can do to change the situation or bring them back to where they used to be. However, he still wishes that he could spend one more day with his lover. The song ends with the singer confessing his need for his lover, despite the physical distance between them.
Overall, "Miles Apart" is a bittersweet song about two souls who were once inseparable, but circumstances changed and forced them to live separate lives. The singer longs for the past and wishes that he could have one more day with the person he loves.
