Love Pains
Yvonne Elliman Lyrics

You don't know that I'm leaving
My bag is packed to go
oh,no,no,no it hurts me,
Leaving for someone who
I hardly even know
But time is come to say good-bye
To spread my wings and fly
To feel the need I feel inside
But I keep feeling these love pains
Hurting me through and through
Caught between a lover or two
Oh will I ever be free from these love pains
Tearing me all apart,
'cause I don't want to break your heart
Oh will I ever be free from these love pains
Can't help, can't help to remember
the love we had so tender,
a world so safe and sound.
Oh no no no what is this?
temptation so inviting,
a feeling so exciting
has turned it upside down
although, I know I could be wrong
this feeling's much too strong
I got to be where I belong
But I keep feeling these love pains
Hurting me through and through
Caught between a lover or two
Oh will I ever be free from these love pains
Tearing me all apart,
'cause I don't want to break your heart
Oh will I ever be free from these love pains
Love pains
Hurting me through and through
Caught between a lover or two
Oh will I ever be free from these love pains
Tearing me all apart,
'cause I don't want to break your heart
Oh will I ever be free from these love pains
Love pains...
The lyrics to Yvonne Elliman's "Love Pains" tell the story of a woman who is torn between two lovers. She is leaving her current lover, who she still has strong feelings for, to pursue a new relationship that she is not entirely certain about. The woman is struggling with the pain of leaving someone she loves, but also feeling the excitement of a new love. She acknowledges that the decision she is making could potentially break her current lover's heart, but she feels that she needs to follow her heart and be where she belongs.

Yvonne owns this one forever. No joke. All others, no-no. She did this on Hot City tv. Great disco groove. Jeff Barry was also in on this, genius track. Pure sex confessional, so sincere. Thanks, Yvonne. Vive les retro & disco freaks ....

Brings back so many memories. I just turned 60 Aug 13. An older gay guy who still feels young. Many days i wish we had no cell phones. U just went out and met people. And danced, drank, and had dinner

I remember this song and many others from the 70's in Seattle, Portland, and Los Angeles Discos. Brings back memories of when music was felt. deep bass from subwoofers and the dance floor was full of fun times, great dancers, great music, and great people.
