Ocean
Zeid & The Wings Lyrics

I tried to run but I slipped away
Coming in clean
I'm painting pictures around the seams
And so it seems
You're mixing colors to get that green
To the Atlantic blue
Back to my home where the ocean's cool
I spent my money on an old Chevrolet
Lost and astray
I drove until there was no light of day
The lyrics of "Ocean" by Zeid & The Wings suggest a sense of nostalgia and longing for the ocean. The singer talks about slipping away and coming in clean, perhaps indicating a desire to escape from something in their life and start fresh. They describe painting pictures around the seams, which could be interpreted as trying to make something beautiful out of the cracks in their life. The next line, "you're mixing colors to get that green," could be a metaphor for the way people try to achieve wealth or success by blending different elements, but ultimately end up feeling unsatisfied.
The singer then mentions the Atlantic blue and going back home, perhaps indicating a longing for a simpler life by the ocean. They talk about feeling a new way and spending money on an old Chevrolet, which could represent a desire to leave their current life behind and start over with something vintage and reliable. The final line talks about driving until there was no light of day, which could be interpreted as continuing to search until they find what they are looking for.
Overall, the lyrics of "Ocean" create a sense of longing for escape and simplicity, with the ocean serving as a recurring symbol of peace and tranquility.
