Rising
Zix Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Under wings of my resistance
We require no assistance
In the name of united nations
They require annihilation
Plague they spread across the nation
Sets the path of our destination
Raise the flag until damnation
I am rising

In the name of assassinations
Wars of their own creations
Time to join this new sensation
And achieve realization
No escape from illumination
Join this congregation
It′s the dawn of a generation
I have risen

Ride and be free
And then sin along
Ride with the wind
Where you belong
Ride and be free
And then sin along
Maybe one day you'll be free just like me

Behind the hidden doors
Underneath checkered floors
Bow down now and addore
And then shout the battle roar
Prepare for blood and gore
Now starts the final war

Free yourself from the shadows of the night
Open up to the light
Pray that he will not defeat you
Don′t bellow your cries in fright
Succumb you will to his power
Summon your deadly cry

Destruct and ravish with pride
Kill and murder with a smile

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Zix's "Rising" convey the message of rebellion against oppressive forces, tyranny and suppression of individuality. The first two lines of the song, "Under wings of my resistance, we require no assistance," indicate a sense of self-sufficiency and determination to rise against the odds. The "plague they spread across the nation" appears to be a metaphor for the negativity and corruption that can spread through society. By "raising the flag until damnation," the singer declares their preparedness to fight for their cause against all odds.

The second stanza of the song refers to the creation of wars and assassinations by the very people who are supposed to be maintaining peace and security. The choice to "join this new sensation" is a call to action for people to break out of their comfort zones and become part of the solution. "No escape from illumination" highlights the fact that once a person realizes the truth, they can never go back to ignorance. The singer seems to be urging people to join the "dawn of a generation" - the emergence of a new era of people who are more awakened to the truth.

The third stanza includes the lines, "Bow down now and adore, and then shout the battle roar. Prepare for blood and gore, now starts the final war." The use of the word "adore" is particularly interesting, as it suggests that the singer is turning away from anything that was once worshiped, and instead embracing a new cause to fight for. This final war, then, is perhaps a call to action for people to claim their individuality and stand up against oppressive forces.

I mean the IGN review is almost exactly the same? They both say the game has a nice setting but doesn't get the gameplay right because there's a bunch of jank. Which is absolutely true.

That's not a big deal in a game like Greedfall but when you make a souls like game you really need to get the combat right.

It's not good here. It's not terrible but it's not good. It's significantly behind the second tier of souls games. If you're expecting combat on par with Nioh or The Surge you're going to be disappointed.

It's probably a 6/10. Above average in it's totality but quite poor in it's game feel, performance and combat. Also it fails to use a setting that has produced some of the best art in history for anything more than flavor text. If you're interested in the French revolution and hoped it would have something to say you'll also be disappointed.

Its a neat setting that isn't actually used. You'll meet Lafayette but he's just an NPC named Lafayette.

It's been a ton of fun watching Spiders get better and better with each game. They may be a little jank, but they are filled with care.

Turd Rocket

The fact that there's only two anti-Spiders elitists in this thread, and no one else agrees with them proves how much their games mean to us fans.

Cyber Punk

Theyre eurojanks for a reason and thats the perk

Etienne Latour

Dude I'm so glad they're still pushing it. I feel they'll come out with a hit one day. Persistence and determination are key!

Spiders are masters at what they do. I am so happy that the masses are finally being exposed to their games

Prototype 81

Little jank lol. They gave the world the saying "euro jank".

It's a Spiders game, so I'm in. While their games are typical examples of "almost there, but not quite", I absolutely ADORE the concepts and worlds they tackle in their games. They always try their hardest, and their games are always *interesting*, warts and all.

@Dr. Pheel Bound By Flame is in my top 3 favorite games of all time. Best story that Spiders has done. Unfortunately the budget had to cut the game short. But I loved the idea of the Ice Lord's, and slowly taking them down one by one. Then it's revealed one of the Ice Lords was on your team the entire time. The music is amazing. Literally, no joke, the best soundtrack and music I have ever heard in a game. The combat was extremely fun. I chose the dagger route, crit build. So, shredding enemies was so satisfying to me. I truly wish they would remaster the game and fix some plot points, graphics, bugs, etc.. And I'd be more than excited for a Bound By Flame II which expands on the other Ice Lord's

George

@THE NEGROMANCER Yeah greedfall is absolutely awful. They put way too much time in the physical world, and forgot about enemy variety, combat, and the story

Dr. Pheel

I've never disliked a spiders game cept for Bound by Flame. I'm in.
