Summoned initially by singer-songwriter Kailan Price, but now a fully fledged five-piece band, they have steadily created a sound distinctly their own. Popular in Berlin, London, and now somewhat secretly, Moscow, these three places - their sparse expanses, concrete homogeny and heavy atmospheres - are testament to what bloody/bath are creating and why people are listening.
Catchy melodies dance throughout the tracks, disguising a heaviness, a desperation, drowning somewhere beneath the surface. Live shows at The Brixton Windmill, The Sebright Arms and The Garibaldi have seriously left their mark. It’s not often a band can play to a bunch of broken hearts, only to be demanded back on stage so the listeners can bathe in the mire one more time. Bruised and beaten down, a whole load of listeners can’t get enough of bloody/bath.
Heather
bloody/bath Lyrics

Strangled arteries
Broken heart
Somethings rotting
waiting to tear me apart
Sent to the slaughter
were just crossed in this mound
so heavy lies its crown
so what am I to do now
Test my fate
pull a match and burn the bed
get to it
get to it
Drag my body from the lake
my bones will break like branches
and in the morning sun
ill fester in the wake of your love
in the wake of your love
in the wake of your love
in the wake of your love
in the wake of your love
Test my fate
pull a match and burn the bed
get to it
get to it
Test my fate
pull a match and burn the bed
get to it
get to it
get to it
get to it
get to it
The lyrics of "Heather" by bloody/bath depict a dark and intense emotional struggle. The song seems to revolve around themes of pain, betrayal, and being consumed by a toxic relationship. The opening lines set a gruesome and violent tone with phrases like "bloodied body," "strangled arteries," and "broken heart." This imagery conveys the singer's deep anguish and the physical and emotional damage they have endured.
The lyrics also suggest a sense of entrapment and powerlessness. The line "Sent to the slaughter, we're just crossed in this mound" implies that the singer feels like a sacrifice or a pawn in a larger game. They are gasping for water, a symbol of life and sustenance, highlighting their desperate thirst for relief from the torment they are experiencing.
The refrain "get to it, get to it" could be interpreted as a call to action, urging the singer to confront their situation head-on and find a way to break free from the cycle of pain. However, the repeated line "test my fate, pull a match and burn the bed" suggests self-destructive tendencies and a willingness to embrace destruction as a means of escape.
Overall, "Heather" portrays a deeply troubled and tormented state of mind, grappling with the aftermath of a toxic relationship and the internal struggle to find liberation from the pain.
