What's up
You don't wanna know, baby it's a mystery
All I'm tryin to do is get close to you
Bring the beat back to the world we once knew
Hello sunshine, I found your hideaway
A little paranoid of perfection, you know why that is
I've been chasing your reflection
Got me running round and round
Round and round
Don't you know it's dangerous to be famous
So high up there above us all
That's why I'm paranoid of perfection
In this world we need protection
I'm just playin cool
Can't you see I'm, can't you see I'm, can't you see I'm, hurting bad
Don't you know, don't you know, you put me back together
You've always been my one and only
Astonishing you were there for me
Paranoid of perfection
Heart of gold
I confess, I confess
I'm just playin cool
The world won't wait for us
We gotta demand what's ours
We belong with trust
Heart of gold, heart of gold, heart of gold
I want more, I want more, I want more
Don't make me paranoid of perfection
Don't you do it
I can't help what I am
I'm a simple man
Paranoid
You know it's dangerous
To be famous
Alone out there
Not a face you can trust
I pay the consequence of your love
Worth the cost of admission, you know it
Freedom
Time to drop everything, run away with me
Baby you and I gotta date with destiny
Forever paranoid of perfection
Run away with me, just drop everything
Runa Runa way with me
Paradise in your eyes
I'm paranoid of perfection
The song "Paranoid of Perfection" by cmdess talks about the desire for deeper connections and the fear of being hurt. The first verse tells us that the singer is going through something that others don't understand fully. They want to get closer to someone, but it's difficult because it's a mystery. The following lines talk about bringing back the beat and the groove to a summer day, indicating a longing for a time when things were easier or more carefree.
The chorus continues with the central theme of the song: the fear of perfection and the consequences of fame. The singer is chasing someone's reflection, and this pursuit has left them going around in circles. They are also wary of fame and the risks that come with it, wanting to protect themselves from the spotlight. The second verse shows that the singer is still trying to appear cool despite the emotions they feel. They confess that they have a heart of gold and want more from their relationship, yet can't help but feel paranoid of perfection.
