Had an idea for the ending. Andrej is running, gasping for breath, when a marine jogs up next to him.

"Friend Andrej, do you wish me to aid you in your journey to the escape pod?"
"I appreciate the kind gesture, but fear that it might be embarrassing for the both of us."
"That seems likely, but I am willing to bear the shame of it if you are."
"Very well then, I accept your kind offer."

The marine then picks up Andrej, throws him over his shoulder and starts running. Andrej, of course, is being himself.

Going by the rules, that was a bit of a waste (though given the situation, 1d3 mortal wounds probably came in handy), but going by the lore, it's a bad rule.
