Finished this game/visual novel recently and loved it. One of Grasshopper's more inspired works for sure, and really oozed that 90's charm I crave in works like Soul Hackers and Serial Experiments Lain. Part of me is sad it's over now, because I can't go back to a time where I don't know what happens now, but damn was it good while it lasted.
Placebo especially drew me in with its comfy atmosphere, living the daily life of Tokio as he searches through his inbox, talks to his turtle Red, and gradually pieces together illusive threads from the main story, while his paranoia around The Bat grows. And what with the internet being as mysterious and intimate as it was back in the late 90's, it's great to be able to go back in time and experience that environment first-hand from Tokio's perspective.
Oh, and the music's good too.

This game's story and surreal vibes remind me a lot of Hotline Miami, I can see why Suda51 loved it so much

The Silver Case partly inspired Hotline Miami which partly inspired Travis Strikes Again which came back up in NMH 3.
