Oh. my. god.
I really can not express how much I love this and how much I'm thankful for this.
Since the time I found out about your channel, I imagined what Hearthome would sound like as a bossa nova/samba, but I wouldn't have imagined it would sound this good. The flute and the guitar add so much to it, it's wonderful.
I remember suggesting this song to you quite a few times in the past 4 years or so (and I'm sorry if I annoyed you because of that), but that's because I always trusted that you would make something beautiful out of this. I knew no one else would do such a cover in such a brilliant way like you would.
I grew up with Pokémon Diamond. This game represents so much to me. It represents growing up, overcoming challenges, not giving up. It also taught me to enjoy the journey, even if it feels too slow at times. But most importantly, this game was one of the reasons I got into jazz so early on.
Pokémon Diamond always felt kind of lonely to me. The routes were long, the caves were kind of oppressing, I always felt I was walking alone. But none of that felt bad. The ambients and the soundtrack more than made up for that. And I enjoyed exploring on my own. This game was my "me-time" while growing up.
This cover right here pretty much summarizes my childhood. It's everything I love in music form. It's something I'll listen to until the very last day of my life. I waited 4 years or so to listen to this, and it was worth the wait.
Thank you, Carlos. Keep doing what you're doing and I'll support you until the very end.

Wow, thank you for this wonderful comment. I think part of the story is true for me too, especially with bit about introducing myself to jazz music!

I feel the same way! Pokemon diamond was my first pokemon game and this song brings soo much nostalgia.

Thank you for conveying my feelings exactly. And thank you Carlos/Xnarky for this truly beautiful arrangement. Seriously brought me close to tears.

Orlanswf, you have expressed the inexpresable: the feelings of anyone who grew up with Gen 4. Sinnoh really did feel like a "solo" journey in comparison to its predecessors and this cover really makes me remember how heartwarming Hearthome city was, alongside the rest of the game back in the day. While there's definitely a greater sense of loneliness throughout Sinnoh than previous titles, it also makes those places with more liveliness feel even more special. Hearthome City might just be the epitome of a feel-good place (and theme) in Pokemon and this Bossa Nova cover really emphasizes that.

Also, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate comes out in 6 days.

I am not a gamer but this song and melody flows very well. Nice composition.

That’s the kind of reaction I hope for from people who listen to this music who aren’t gamers! A lot of video game music is so melodically rich, and that’s the kind I like to arrange the most!

Bossa nova = grass type
Swing = water
Rock/funk = fire

This characterization is so true, I love this
