Throughout the mid '80s to mid '90s, the band had a number of Billboard chart hit albums such as 1986's De Guanajuato...Para America! with hit song, "Amor Sin Palabras" ("Love Without Words"). Then tragedy occurred when younger brother Martín was killed in a bus accident and in the same year a tribute album, 1987's Gracias Martin, was dedicated to him. They earned a movie, 1989's Caminantes...Si Hay Caminos.
Caminantes are also known for their playing of variety Regional Mexican styles, e.g., Ranchera, Corrido, Balada, Cumbia, Banda and Mariachi. They have recorded over 30 albums throughout their career span and had numerous song collaborations with high profile Regional Mexican acts (Diana Reyes, Patrulla 81, Polo Urías y su Maquina Norteña, Banda Pachuco, etc.).
To this day, Agustín is the remaining original member of Los Caminantes after the departure of Horacio and the passings of Martín, Brígido and Humberto. The band continues to record and tour throughout the United States, Mexico, and Central America.

Porque cantando se alegran
Cielito lindo, los corazones
De la Sierra Morena
Cielito lindo, vienen bajando
Un par de ojitos negros
Ese lunar que tienes
Cielito lindo, junto a la boca
No se lo des a nadie
Cielito lindo que a mi me toca
Ay, ay, ay, ay canta y no llores
Porque cantando se alegran
Cielito lindo, los corazones
The song "Cielito Lindo" by Los Caminantes is a traditional Mexican folk song that celebrates the beauty of life and the joy of singing. The opening lyrics "Ay, ay, ay, ay canta y no llores" encourage people to sing and not cry, highlighting the power of music to bring happiness and lift people's spirits. The song goes on to describe the beauty of the Sierra Morena region of Mexico and the arrival of a set of "ojitos negros" (black eyes) that have come to the singer "de contrabando" (illegally).
The singer then turns his attention to a beauty mark ("lunar") near the woman's mouth, warning her not to give it to anyone else because it belongs to him ("Cielito lindo que a mi me toca"). This verse expresses the singer's love and affection for the woman, and how he wants to possess her beauty and keep it for himself.
Overall, "Cielito Lindo" is a song that celebrates the beauty of life and the power of music to bring joy and happiness. It also touches on themes of love and possessiveness, reflecting the romantic ideals that are often present in traditional Mexican folk music.
