Netflix failed to portray just how psychopathic this woman really was. Maybe they thought the audience wouldn't be able to stomach the true horror of her crimes.

I think it's because they were (as usual) trying to lowkey paint her as some misunderstood girlboss feminist icon. As usual, they have to fit their "social messaging" into the narrative. The main motivation that the scriptwriters gave her wasn't greed or psychopathy. It was "Men are mean and I'm gonna prove them all wrong by being a strong, independent woman!".

They didn't even BEGIN to show how terrible she was until the last couple episodes - and even then, they barely scratched the surface.
