Black & White: Kuroi Sunglasses Kaketa Hi Kara

In Misono's song "Black & White: Kuroi Sunglasses Kaketa Hi Kara," the lyrics depict a world that was once gray but now suddenly appears in black and white. The persona of the song realizes that there are things that they were better off not knowing, and that waiting for change to happen never really happens. They come to understand that even the gentle words of an angel can turn into the sharp thorns of a devil, leading to a world of contradictions. The persona of the song acknowledges that they have a desire to change and become someone different, evident in the lines, "there is a tomorrow I want to change and a version of myself I want to transform." However, they are unsure if they are running away from their problems or if they are losing the battle they are fighting.
The song delves into the idea of a world with polar opposites, as depicted in the contrast of black and white, and the existence of good and evil. The idea that the world often seems like a game of Othello, where things can turn in a moment's notice, is also present in the lyrics. The chorus of the song suggests that things can become darker than anticipated, and it becomes difficult to see the light in the midst of the chaos. The lyrics are relatable to anyone going through a difficult time in their life, where things may not seem quite as clear-cut as they once appeared to be. The song suggests that the persona may be experiencing a crisis of identity and struggling to navigate through life's complications.
