Soon
my bloody valentine Lyrics
Wake up
Don't fear
I want to
Love you
Yeah (doll of pain)
I let you get to me
Yeah yeah
Come back
Don't be
Soon
That (I'll harm you)
Your eyes are blue
Blue jewels
Yeah yeah
Come back
Have faith
Someone like you
Can find the reason
Of what I did to you
Yeah yeah
Wake up
Don't fear
I want to
Love you
Yeah (doll of pain)
I let you get to me
Yeah yeah

Their 1988 album Isn't Anything is generally regarded as one of the most influential records of the period, acting as an important precursor to the early '90s "shoegazing" scene. In 1991, the band released their second full length album Loveless, later declared one of the finest albums of the 1990s. The band struggled to record a follow up album and split in 1997. The band reunited in 2007 and performed several concerts the following year. The band released their third album, m b v, in February 2013.
The band’s key member is guitarist/singer/composer Kevin Shields, a reclusive perfectionist and radically inventive guitarist/engineer. The band’s other original member is drummer/studio maven Colm Ó Cíosóig; during their heyday MBV also included singer-guitarist Bilinda Butcher and bassist Debbie Googe. Their band shares its name with a low-budget Canadian slasher film.
MBV influences include The Velvet Underground, Sonic Youth, Cocteau Twins, late-1970s Wire, The Jesus and Mary Chain, and independent artists such as The Pastels. Kevin Shields has also named The Beach Boys and The Ramones as a personal influence.
After leaving Creation Records in 1992 and signing with Island Records, the band fell into a creative black hole. Rumors spread among their fans of albums being recorded and then shelved. Debbie Googe left the band to form Snowpony; she had not played bass on their recordings since You Made Me Realise. Colm Ó Cíosóig eventually left and formed a band with Hope Sandoval, formerly of Mazzy Star, called Hope Sandoval & The Warm Inventions. Kevin Shields sporadically collaborated with other artists, most notably Experimental Audio Research, Curve, and Primal Scream. He revealed in a fall 2003 National Public Radio interview that Island Records quit financing his My Bloody Valentine endeavors after he spent half a million pounds of their money.
As of 2006, many rumors mentioned the possible reformation of MBV for a new studio album, but none of these were true. On November 15 2007, My Bloody Valentine announced three upcoming live gigs in the UK for 2008. On June 13 and 14, the band played in public for the first time in thirteen years, offering a pair of "Live Rehearsal" presentations at the ICA in London and officially starting their series of comeback performances. The band went on to play a slew of festivals in Summer and Fall of 2008. Following their appearance at the 2008 All Tomorrow's Parties festival, the New York Times reported that Shields was planning to complete the unfinished album.
On 2 February 2013 they self-released the self-titled album m b v as a download with both vinyl and CD copies shipping on 22nd Feb 2013. The Huffington Post reported that it caused such a public stir that the official MBV website crashed when fans attempted to access the site to purchase a copy.

junk bot. well, lol... dramatic nerd... love it.. guess I am when it comes to discussing MBV. Following them from beginning after reading review in Melody Maker it was pure joy, a Hazey wonderement of perfection we needed... to move on from goth. Lifechanging...
nothing has ever come close to that time again for me. The wait for follow up to loveless.. bitter hate distilled into a funk.. then the tour... just what was needed..seeing them create the huge jagged bombastic wall of cacophonic beauty live. That night in London @the Roundhouse was angelic & gospel.MBV didnt preach fire and brimstone, promising to be with god by following the way and have blind faith on this mortal coil preaching after dying God will be with us.The music was god, Buddah, Mohammed,Shiva, Krishna, but not a story, a reality that was a living, breathing, entity with a soul and out of this world ominous power so mighty brought to earth and we didnt have to die.
Intense ,euphoric, words don't do it justice. Esoteric, sums it up. Taken to the other side. So, Mr. junkybot i didnt say bands all need to change things up,,experiment, and keep us excited, and joyfully interested., but bands that do are a treasure. I was talking about My Bloody Valentine, in the flesh, living Gods who created music that was God,.not mythic, ancient lore we are led to believe its a docttrine of truth , Christianity teaches us to live a dualistic life.,thats propagated in the U. S. even amongst the non religious., good /bad, right/wrong, evil/saint, such a limited, close minded way of life, people live it, and dont even realize it. Its their right to have a fucking opinion becoming so judgemental with beliefs that become facts and truths fucking up communication, destroying empathy and ability of critical thinking to help understand each other or even try to see another point of view.
as you call it 'dramatic nerd', It was beyond a so called religious experience,., it was a monumental, time in history where i was fortunate to experience and follow a band who became musical gods, that ended with them taking me to the other side... Esoteric... for me... but unfortunately not for you. To here knows when...

Wake up, don't fear
I want to love you
Yeah, doll of pain
I let you get to me
Yeah, yeah
Come back, don't be
Afraid of me soon
That I'll harm you
Your eyes are blue
Blue jewels
Yeah, yeah
Come back, have faith
Someone like you
Can find the reason
Of what I did to you
Yeah, yeah
Wake up, don't fear
I want to love you
Yeah, doll of pain
I let you get to me
Yeah, yeah

What I love about youtube is the fact.. I feel as an outsider in my shitty little town where absolutely no one has ever heard of MBV or shoegaze . Then i come here and see so many ppl, probably just like me, lost and confused, who think they were born in the wrong place and time.. but here we are together, enjoying and admiring this masterpiece. I love you guys

I thank heaven I was born at the EXACT right time. I got to go out to clubs in Miami and Atlanta that played this music as it was released in Britain. Then I got to become a deejay who spun Madchester, Shoegaze and BritPop for 10 years to a packed club. I was 22 when Loveless was released. Destiny.
