Swedish trio Slowgold offer dreamy folk pop for weary souls, with a hint of psychedelic rock added for good measure. Frontwoman Amanda Werne has an unforgettable voice and a charismatic stage presence: calm and quiet, yet strong and very much to the fore. At age 16, Amanda began songwriting, since then the music career just rolled on. Amanda Werne was born and raised in Gothenburg.
Amanda started playing the violin when she was seven. In addition, she mastered the piano, guitar and harmonica. In high school, she formed her first band 'The Rocket Machine' named after a Bob Hund song of the same name. Then it became rather calm around her, but she pulled herself together and asked some friendly band members for help with performing of own songs.
Slowgold - with Amanda as the sole permanent member - have risen above the crowd. Earlier in the year released acclaimed full-length album 'Stjärnfall' (Falling Stars) and this summer was rounded 'Way Out West' in a grand manner. Confetti rain in gold could not symbolize this better. Sequel album 'Glömska' issued at the end of November and the Sonics PM Jönsson reviewing the disc by noting that Slowgold going from strength to strength. It is just to agree.

The Swedish lyrics in Slowgold's song "Inte här" translate to English as follows: "If there's something you didn't understand, with how nice I would be to you if you took the chance with me. I could take care of you if you're nice, nicer than you were tonight. I've made many mistakes, but finding fault with you was not one of them. The song speaks about unrequited love and the frustration of not being able to make someone see your worth. Slowgold's lyrics suggest that she would treat her love interest well and make good memories with them, but she feels that they don't appreciate her enough. She suggests that if they reject her, they'll be missing out on the opportunity of experiencing something wonderful with her. Slowgold portrays herself as someone who's willing to care for her love interest, but only if they're kind to her as well. Ultimately, she warns her love interest that they'll regret not taking the chance with her when she's no longer around.
