Korzen's frustration with the difficulties of being in a band led to the dissolution of Barcelona, and as a result, Sprites has an ever-changing line-up. Participants include Christian Scanniello, Ivan Ramiscal, Kevin Alvir, Armin Pruessner, Derek Strausbaugh, and Reid Dossinger, with only Jason and Amy remaining as constant members.
The band released Starling, Spiders, Tiger and Sprites in 2003 on March Records, the EP Bionic Hands in 2004 through the Spanish label Lejos Discsos and their second album titled Modern Gameplay was released in 2006 through the Darla Records label.
Joel Has A Hole In his eardrum

Can't play Marco Polo in the pool
That's right
Can't go scuba diving I don't think
Uh-uh
Watches from the surface
Doesn't matter now
But what will he do when the summer comes around?
Joel has a hole in his eardrum that will never heal
No way
His doctor let him know it isn't safe
That's right
He can't go scuba diving I don't think Uh-uh
Stuck above the water with me
Doesn't matter now
The snow on the ground and ice upon the lakes
But what will he do
When the summer comes around?
What will he do when summer comes around?
Doesn't matter now
The snow on the ground and ice upon the lakes
But what will he do
When the summer comes around?
[Repeat: x3]
What will he do when summer comes around?
What will he do in the summer?
In this song, Sprites talks about a character named Joel who has a permanent hole in his eardrum that prevents him from engaging in certain activities. Specifically, he cannot play Marco Polo in the pool, and he can't go scuba diving as these activities require submerging his head under water. The song is set in winter, and although Joel is stuck above water with the singer, it doesn't matter much because the snow on the ground and ice on the lakes also limit what they can do. However, the singer wonders what Joel will do when the summer comes around and there are many water-based activities to enjoy.
The song appears to be a metaphor for limitations and how they affect us. The hole in Joel's eardrum is a physical limitation that prevents him from enjoying certain activities, and in a broader sense, we all have something that limits us. Winter represents a time of year where limitations are evident due to the weather, but summer represents a time of possibilities and the potential of overcoming limitations. The song ends with the repeated question of "What will he do when summer comes around?" which can be interpreted as a challenge to stay positive and find ways to overcome limitations.
