two
sunrise/sunset Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Welcome to the warrior sequence
You are a warrior
But there are no weapons here today
Only movement and sound
We begin with a sojourn into the alignment of all things real
And surreal
Take your first step to infinity
As we inhale into warrior one
Ponder for a moment
The nature of the sun
Exhale symmetrically
Into warrior two
Close your eyes to your regrets
You are a fixed point in space
Breath into your own gratitude
As you lean forward and soar
Into warrior three
Surprise yourself
Believe
Let your days, hours, minutes, and seconds, wash into the void
You're free
You are a warrior

The tonal plane
Knows you by name

Overall Meaning

"Two" by Sunrise/Sunset is a song that takes the form of a warrior sequence. The song talks about being a warrior, but in a different sense. Instead of weapons, there is a focus on movement and sound. The sequence begins with an alignment of all things real and surreal, a sort of meditation to connect with oneself and surroundings. As the sequence progresses, there is a notion to ponder the nature of the sun, perhaps in reference to the cyclical nature of life itself. The lyrics encourage letting go of regrets, acknowledging our place as a fixed point in space, and breathing in gratitude.

Hi Evan! You have a wonderful video! I hope you don't mind, but my teaching partner and I recently used this video in a Science lesson about gathering evidence.  We watched your video and looked for evidence to determine when it was taken.  My students predicted several different times of year. We finally decided it was filmed sometime in December or January based on the lack of holiday lights seen in the video. Could you finally end the debate and share with us when this video was shot?
Thank you in advance for your help!

Evan Rackle

This video was shot in on one of the first days of December. December 1st or 2nd I believe. At 0:55 you can see the sun set and the Christmas lights illuminate on the houses across the street. Great predictions! Thanks for the support
