yfriday Lyrics

Deeds upon my fingertips
Actions whispering louder than my voice
Speak Your word out through the prophets
Make a sign bright like a comet
Jesus shining lighting up the sky
Rise and shine through us tonight
Take me to the greatest need
A killer of the Devil's seed
Joining with the angels in Your song
Bind the hands of all abusers
Wipe the bullets from our future
c'mon God, hear me dream out loud!
Rise and shine through us Jesus
Rise and shine through us
Love, love is the drug I'm feeling
Love, love is the drug I'm dealing
Love, love what the world is needing
Rise, rise, tonight
Rise up, rise up, everybody rise!
'Cos love, love is the drug I'm feeling
Love, love is the drug I'm dealing,
Love, love what the world is needing
Rise, rise, tonight
(rise)love is the drug I'm dreaming of
(rise)love is the drug!
The song "Rise" by yFriday is a call to action for believers in Christ to be a light in the world and make a positive impact. The lyrics begin with a plea to be filled with the power of God, represented by coal on the lips and deeds on the fingertips. The singer acknowledges that their words alone may not carry enough weight to make a difference, but their actions can speak louder. The line "Jesus shining lighting up the sky" suggests that God's power can have a dramatic and far-reaching impact.
The second verse of the song focuses on a desire to be used by God to address the world's problems. The singer asks to be taken to the "greatest need," which could be interpreted as a specific issue or group of people that require attention and care. The line "Joining with the angels in Your song" suggests that believers are part of a larger spiritual battle against evil in the world. The final line of the verse is a cry for God to help them dream boldly and make a difference.
The chorus of the song reinforces the message of the verses, with the repetition of "Rise and shine through us." The bridge section of the song shifts focus to the power of love, which the singer compares to a drug. They argue that love is what the world needs to rise up and overcome its problems.
