The Remixes of Treehouse and Mother Tongue by Robjn for Canon Blue.
The Mother Tongue remix features Angie Mack, a singer from London who resides in NYC.
“I had just finished remixing Angie's song 'Two Big Pearls' when I got the Canon Blue files and I thought it would be interesting to ask her as a guest vocalist, I had just finished my bands (Laserlong) album and I wanted to try something different when remixing so as well as changing the interpretation of the music we changed the vocal dynamic. It was rather fitting as the song was called Mother Tongue.
With the Treehouse remix I wanted to make the song feel more like it could on a live performance and loving albums with intros and reprises I used tape loop units and other guitar effect boxes to give me a soundscape of feedback, loops and vocals, the song ends up being deconstructed and completely rearranged as we as adding my own tracks, drums and instruments I sliced the original drum tracks on tape into a new pattern. My favourite part is the feedback at the end made with Dans vocals you can just tell what it was before the Larsen effect kicks in". - Robjn
