The band was formed in 2005 by cousins Dorian (vocals) and Chai Deveraux (guitar). Ivy supported the duo on bass until the end of of 2006. At that time the group still had no drummer, which is why the first songs, released on the EP Assasinate ME, were recorded with the help of a drum-machine.

The band members' roles in Jesus on Extasy changed at the end of 2006: Ophelia DAX (key board), BJ (drums) and Andrea Odendahl (second guitar) joined the band. The first album, Holy Beauty, was released in 2007 by Drakkar Entertainment.

The band was influenced by industrial, alternative and glam rock.
