It's For My Dad
Nancy Sinatra Lyrics

Tall and proud and good when times were bad
To much heart, is the only fault that I see
This song's not for you folks
It's for my dad
Always a partner, a playmate and a teacher
Ready with a joke when times were sad
And in my teens, sometimes he was a preacher
This song's not for you folks
It's for my dad
He always was a rock when I needed one
He gave me good advice when I needed some
I want you to know that when It's said and done
He's one of the best friends I ever had... I ever had
This song's not for you folks
It's for my dad
He always was a rock when I needed one
He gave me good advice when I needed some
I want you to know that when It's said and done
He's one of the best friends I ever had... Oh, I ever had
This song's not for you folks
It's for my dad
Of course I like you folks
But I love my dad
In the song "It's for My Dad" by Nancy Sinatra, she pays tribute to her father and thanks him for being there for her during difficult times. She describes her father as a man who always stood by her, tall and proud, and had too much heart as his only fault. She acknowledges him as a partner, playmate, teacher, and sometimes preacher in her life. She expresses her gratitude for his presence, his humor, and his guidance during her teenage years. Even though she loves and appreciates her fans, this song is solely dedicated to her dad, who has always been a rock for her.
The lyrics of the song demonstrate the importance of fatherhood and how the presence of a loving and supportive father can shape a child's life positively. Nancy Sinatra's tribute to her father highlights the role of a father as a mentor, guide, and constant support system. The song shows that a father's love goes a long way in building a child's self-esteem and sense of security, contributing to their success in life.
