Rebelution kicked off their “Peace of Mind Tour” the day after the release, selling out shows at Philly’s The Electric Factory, The Hollywood Palladium, Denver’s The Fillmore, The Fox Theater in Oakland and Hard Rock in Orlando, FL. The tour made stops in a total of 42 cities across the country.
Summer 2012 was spent supporting O.A.R on their Amphitheatre tour, headlining four amphitheaters in Florida as well as festival performances at Outside Lands, Hangout, Forecastle, Summer Camp, Summer Set, The Allman Bro’s Peach Festival and two performances at Red Rocks Amphitheatre. After completing a Fall tour of the East and South East, Rebelution will be headlining The Hollywood Palladium on New Years Eve, heading to New Zealand for the Raggamuffins Festival in February and headlining their annual Winter Greens Tour around the USA in Feb - May 2013.
Peace of Mind marks the first time Rebelution has expanded beyond their usual self-production enlisting producers Michael Goldwasser (Easy Star All-Stars), Amp Live (Zion-I), Yeti Beats (Kool Keith, George Clinton), Keith Armstrong and Errol Brown (Stephen, Ziggy, Damian, and Bob Marley). The album builds upon the band’s signature style while venturing into new musical genres from the lush strings incorporated into the gentle “Route Around” to the driving guitar and synths throughout “Lady In White”.
Rebelution has developed into a front-runner for grassroots, independent and tour driven music groups. Originally formed in 2004, members Eric Rachmany (vocals / guitar), Rory Carey (keyboards), Wesley Finley (drums), and Marley D. Williams (bass) met in college, while residing in Isla Vista, a popular beachside community in Santa Barbara. It was there that the seeds to Rebelution’s future were planted creating inspiring and engaging music that would leave their listeners with the sense that they have the power to make this world a better place. The band continuously tours across the country, ventured to South America and Europe, and has previously performed at Bonnaroo, Lollapalooza and Austin City Limits among others.

City Life
Rebelution Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Woah woah
I don't wanna be waiting in line
I got too many things that
I could do with my time
And I don't wanna feel this confined
To city life, to city life, to city life
I can't avoid this feeling
Another siren sounds
The last straw, I'm leaving
It's time to leave this crowd
In fact, I might go
First thing in the morning
To lay low
I gotta get out of here for real
Yeah, that sounds good to me, ah
Find some cleaner air to breathe
Ah yes
Get away from everything, ah
Never have I ever felt
Like this
Yeah, that sounds good to me, ah
Find some cleaner air to breathe
Ah yes
Get away from everything, ah
And never have I ever felt
Like this
Really and truly I should pack up
And find my way under the stars, I'll roll a sack up
And find some peace and quiet, get my spirits back up
Breathe in the oxygen, I'll find a place to shack up
That'll keep me on track, my friends
To get back
The things that I lack
To get back
The things that I lack
Yeah, that's it
In fact I might go
First thing in the morning
To lay low
I gotta get out of here for real
Out of here for real
Yeah, that sounds good to me, ah
Find some cleaner air to breathe
Ah yes
Get away from everything, ah
Never have I ever felt
Like this
Yeah, that sounds good to me, ah
Find some cleaner air to breathe
Ah yes
Get away from everything, ah
Never have I ever felt
Like this
I don't wanna be waiting in line
I got too many things that
I could do with my time
And I don't wanna feel this confined
To city life, to city life, to city life
The song "City Life" by Rebelution is about the singer's yearning to escape the busy and stressful life of the city. He doesn't want to waste his time waiting in line and feeling trapped by the hustle and bustle of the city. He feels suffocated by the constant noise of sirens and the large crowds around him. The singer contemplates leaving the city in search of cleaner air, peace, and quiet. He wants to be alone with his thoughts, find his way under the stars and roll a pack of weed to help him relax.
The lyrics express the need for a break from the stressful city life and the desire to search for some solitude. The song has a laid-back reggae beat which adds to the mellow vibes of the song. The singer's voice is soothing and energetic, evoking a sense of movement and emancipation. The chorus repeats the line "Yeah, that sounds good to me, find some cleaner air to breathe, get away from everything, never have I ever felt like this", emphasizing the need for an escape from the fast-paced city life.
Overall, "City Life" is a powerful anthem for those who feel overwhelmed by the stresses of living in the city. It is a reminder to take a step back, breathe, and reconnect with nature.
