The first iteration of Horizonte Lied was founded in June 1992, and several members have participated since its inception under the influence of bands such as Depeche Mode, Clan of Xymox, Recoil, and Nine Inch Nails.
The band remains 'underground' until 1996 when the band decides to change its name to Horizon Lied (previously called Horizonte Limite); The word LIED is of German origin used since the 18th century and represents one of the most important poetic-musical art forms of all time (Franz Peter Shubert established the German 'Lied' as a new art form in the 19th century).
The band tries exactly to establish a new way of exposing their music, which is complemented by the vision and inspiration that the concept of 'Horizonte' projects.
It is not until 1999 that the band begins to seriously plan the recording of their first album.
Unfortunately due to personal issues, the band delayed the recording sessions for 2 years. But finally, in October 2002, they released their first single: 'Destello Inmortal';
the good rotation that the song received on the internet opened the doors for them to be invited to be the opening band of the renowned cult gothic band Clan of Xymox at the end of that same year in Guadalajara, Jalisco.
In March 2003, they finally released their first album called 'Memorias de Crónicas Futuras' with a very good reception in the underground electro scene, despite the scarce marketing that was handled around it, limiting it to only internet distribution.
Despite this, the band released a second single from the same album called 'Iluminado' in November 2003.
In December of that same year, the band is invited to play at the 'Sequence 001' festival in Mexico City, alternating with the bands: Planet Pop and Nexus 8, at the Dada X club, this being their last live performance, since the beginning of 2004 the group takes a break and only works producing remixes for other bands (Eurovision, Brand New Day).
At the end of 2005, the band got together again and started new recording sessions for a new album and managed to do some live performances again in 2006 with a new more advanced live setup.
Throughout 2007 intermittent recording of new material continues and a promotional compilation album is planned.
Due to several personal situations, the band slows all production around 2007, but
in the middle of 2008, the web single "El Dia Despues" was released.
During the following years, various songs were released casually without much (or any at all) promotion on SoundCloud and ReverbNation, that were going to be a part of the still unreleased compilation EP "Nuevos Horizontes" as well as some first tries to update versions of the first songs from the band.
In 2014 the band resumed live performances in local venues and in 2018 their first song with English lyrics is released gaining great appraisal and coverage in several Spotify playlists and some blogs; this year also starts the planning of releasing their whole body of work including unreleased material with a remixed and remastered treatment.
Currently, the band is promoting its ambitious FINAL REMASTERS project, starting in December 2021 and throughout 2022/2023, under the support and distribution of the independent record label SynthpopYourWorld Records.
