Just got in the-
Just got in the habit of switching the flow
Just trying to travel the globe
Tired of being under looked in this bitch
Tired of hearing I can't wait 'til you blow
Had to step out of my shell for a bit
Cuzzo told me put my foot on they throat
Had to let go of some niggas last year
Wish they let my nigga out on parole
Niggas used to bump The Warm Up by Cole
While niggas used to warm the house wit the stove, shit
If he made it out of this bitch
Ain't no tellin where my talent can go
Skinny nigga from the 4
Used to battle rap niggas for bread when I'm bored
Fuck wit you boy
Used to swerve in a Honda Accord to the store
Hit up the midget for Newport 100's and lottery tickets
Now I be whippin some shit that I prayed for
All my shit paid for
Niggas'll switch on you quick
Like what team do you play for?
I dead a fake nigga like case closed
All my life I been ten toes
G.e.d. My initials
So fuck what you talking I get every dollar
I don't have a collar if I did I would pop it
Like nigga what's poppin? But bruh I can't call it
Like look what we started but now we here
Niggas throwing shade outta fear
'Cause where I'm at niggas see theyself
Don't be mad Bruh just be yourself
'Cause money come and go
People come and go
The sooner you know that the more that you see
Blood ain't no thicker than water to me
I count ever dollar 'til my thumbs bleed
She say I got Marvin Gaye vibes with the drip
If I don't fuck wit the vibes I'ma dip
Got hollow point tips in a clip, shit
I'm in the yacht club wit the whip
Who gives a damn what it's worth?
A U-Haul don't follow no Hearse
I'm real 'til I exit the earth
We from where you mix the water wit dirt
We had to make that shit work
The struggle be quenching my thirst
I put the tears in my verse
So I get the shit I deserve
We came from nothing at all
If we had a problem we solved
Figured that shit out ourself
Turned all my pain into wealth
Turned all my pain into wealth, shit
Now I be whippin some shit that I prayed for
All my shit paid for
Niggas'll switch on you quick
Like what team do you play for?
I dead a fake nigga like case closed
All my life I been ten toes
G.e.d. My initials
So fuck what you talking I get every dollar
I don't have a collar if I did I would pop it
Like nigga what's poppin? But bruh I can't call it
Like look what we started but now we here
Niggas throwing shade outta fear
'Cause where I'm at niggas see theyself
Don't be mad Bruh just be yourself
In Lute's song GED, he describes his journey to success and how he had to step out of his shell to achieve it. The song starts with Lute saying that he's gotten into the habit of switching his flow and travelling the world. He's tired of being overlooked and hearing that people can't wait until he blows up. He then talks about how he had to let go of some people from his life and how he wishes his friend was out on parole. Lute reminisces about the old days when people used to bump J. Cole's mixtape, The Warm-Up, while they warmed up their houses with the stove. He describes how he used to battle rap for bread and swerve in a Honda Accord to the store. But now, he's whipping something he prayed for and all his shit is paid for.
Lute emphasizes the importance of being himself and not faking anything. He talks about how money and people come and go, so he counts every dollar until his thumbs bleed. When he hears Marvin Gaye vibes, he dips, and when he gets shade from people, he sees it as fear. Lute's initials are GED, and he repeats it throughout the song, indicating pride in his identity. He concludes by saying that he gets every dollar and that he's real until he exits the earth.
